Welcome Cruises72. My son is currently on his last board to gain his FMF pin. It is a very long process but well worth it in the end. He has been working on getting it for a year now. Just has to study hard and get one last, what they call, "murder" board and then schedule his last real board and then pass that real board in order to get his pin. He is currently deployed with his Marine unit and they have been great at helping him try to obtain this. Good luck to your corpsman.
Paula sorry to hear that your son didn't get to go greenside. Maybe later. Pharmacy Tech is not all that bad though. Good luck to him in the future.
Thanks Tenn Navy Mom for putting up about the Marine tradegy. I am keeping all involved in my prayers. There is a Navy corpsman that was seriously injured in this tradegy. He is in very serious condition. My prayers and heart go out to his family also.
I am probably not going to be back to the group for a while. My son is in "A" school in SA and wanted FMF, but his orders are for Pharmacy Tech. He is very disappointed and is going to try for FMF later on, but for now, orders are what they are. I will continue my prayers for those in the sandbox until everyone is home safe!
Hello everyone!
I am new to this group. My son has been at CL for over 2 yrs now (which I love cause we live in NC-2 hours away!) he has been green side and loves it!
He will be leaving in June to go to Okinawa, Japan 3rd MAR DIV FMF
He is very excited and I am too for him. He will have the chance to get his pin which I think is a great achievement. I have heard it is a long process tho.......
Thanks Tenn Navy Mom,
He is Corpsman/PMT. (Preventative Medical Tech).
Would love to hear from any other PMT moms about their sailor's deploymen experiences.
Hi, Glad I found this group. My son has been at CL since Oct and will be deploying in June. He had to cancel leave this week to do deployment training this week. Definitely bummed. Also, I am proud of him but definitely not looking forward to his first deploymen. Happy to find a kindred group.
Sorry I haven't been around much lately. On vacation from work and don't get to the group as much as I should lately. Welcome to all the new members that have joined. Please introduce yourselves and let us know about your corpsman.
Been real spoiled with my son lately. We have been chatting on FB daily right now since I am home to type better. We usually chat every other day while I am at work. Use my phone to chat with him and it gets hard to get everything in. He is at home base so he gets the opportunity to talk more with me. It is great.
Hope you all are doing good. We are getting a butt load of snow here in Illinois. Been snowing all day. First good snow we have had in 2 years and it is a welcome sight.
Have a great night everyone.
I'm so happy for you!!!!!! NOTHING like hearing that voice, nothing in the world....
Hey I'm glad to hear the box got there and they liked it - now I have a smile too but not like yours! Look forward to you snagging a pic and sharing. Sleep well tonight mama, you got a great call!!!
Just wanted to let you all know that my son called me from the sandbox tonight. I am on happy mom. Loved hearing his voice. He was just getting ready to rounds at base. It was wonderful to hear from him. Happy mom!!!!!! He's doing good. Has one more board to do and then he can get his FMF pin. Cannot wait to hear about it when he gets it. Gonna have someone take pics and post them on FB so I can try to steal them and hopefully get a pic on here when it happens.
Marcy.....he got his box and he says thanks a million. They all loved it. It was a big hit. Thank you for that.
Welcome Dan's Dad! Glad to have you here. Thanks for all the support. I'll try to keep you updated as much as possible.
