Hey Ladies,

Been a little busy so have not written.  Just got back from San Rosa CA (Napa Valley Wine Country, about an hour above San Francisco).  My Godmother passed away so went for her service.  It is not a sad occasion though.  She was 86 and has fought ovarian cancer for last 15 years doing Chemo up to the last week.  She lived a wonderful life and spread her joy of life throughout the world with various missions and retreats.  She died with grace she came into this world with, I am blessed to have been so close to her.

Thought you girls would like to know that I just found out I PASSED my test.  One more to go in April.

Danielle, did you and Tom buy the house?  Fill us in on everything please.

Lydia, it is almost Spring.  Are you coming out for a visit?

Next week is my sons 1 year from bootcamp.  That is where the 0309 came from.  Glad it is not this year, the weather is horrible in Great Lakes and I am pretty sure I would not have been able to make his PIR.  Last year at this time it was like Spring in Chicago.  I went ready for freexing temps and after the first day did not even need a jacket.

So where is our new member?  I have not seen her on here to get to know to her.

My son is coming home next weekend to eat.  He likes to come and have moms cooking.  While up north my husband and I stopped in Monterey Bay (famous coastal area) and I bought some really nice big lobsters to bring home.  I took a picture and sent them to my son with the caption "look what I just bought you for dinner if you come home this weekend".  Needless to say he called and said right after work on Friday he will be on his way.  I guess I have the way to get him here.  Through his stomache.  The last two or three weeks he has called and said he does not feel like driving an hour after work.

Lydia, I do not know how is going with "those wings".  He has not said anything lately.  I will have to get on him when I see him.

Well, you girls write so we know how everyone is doing.

Talk to you soon,

Carole

Happy Valentines Day back at you Lydia.  Have you all heard the news that our Sailors Squadron got the Battle E award.  My son called me with the news last night.  I called our friend the retired CMC for a better understanding and he said that it is a great honor to get that award.  It means that our sailors have the highest scores throughout the entilre command with regards to everything combined.  It also gives them another ribbon to add on to their uniforms.  I am proud of all of them, great team work.

So how is everyone doing?  I know we have some newbies on here but I have not seen any posts from them.

Took the big test and am still awaiting the results.  They said 2 to 4 weeks.  Not sure how I feel.  The test really focused on P.E. for some reason.  I took a class and had a book to prepare for this test and the questions I had were not topics that were covered to prepare.  I will keep you posted.  If I don't pass, I will just take it again I guess.

Danielle, I am so sorry I did not get to meet you last week.  My husband said you and Tom are both very nice and he enjoyed meeting you.

Well I need to start cleaning house and get ready to take the cat to the vet.  Keep in touch ladies, I will write again in few days.
