BunkerQB... We can make some tie-dyed Tee's! Remember that?! What a mess I made...doing that when I was young! I did some with my kids when they where little... they wore them til they were raggedy!

I don't have any of my tied dyed t-shirts but somewhere in the house, we'll find my old love beads.

DevilDMom, it's sort of funny to say when I come down and visit you all, you better bring your parents, so I won't feel out of place. :) LOL. Hahahaha. You gals have brought up groups that I have forgotten about. A "concert" meet and greet sounds terrific. Something for next year.

Terry, I was probably signing up for volunteering with Op. Gratitude as you were writing your post.  Thanks

I most certainly will let you all know.  Op.Gratitude sends me email updates all the time so if anything comes out I'll post if for you all. You can also find them on facebook if you would like to do any volunteer work or just see what they are doing.

Terry, Let us know if there is a concert at Point Mugu or Port Hueneme they aren't far for many in this group.

My SR was in band in middle school, he didn't continue, but i still meet with a group of 6 "Band Moms" at least a few times a year.  Next one is 7Nov, long standing friendships.  Some of the kids still see each other, but a few have now drifted away - but the Band Moms plan to meet as long as we can!

Always felt that music was very important to have in his life.  So hard to see the programs getting cut again.

My music taste is also very diverse, I listen to many different styles, I never listen to country unless my sailor is home, he and his friends love it and like to go line dancing. He is going to country night  at Power House next week when he is in Sacramento, saw that on his facebook, maybe he will take his mom.

Toby Keith is opening one of his bar & grills up in Folsom.

I had never heard of Operation Gratitude, will check them out.

It would be fun to go to a concert with a group, I am not to picky, I love live music of any kind.  I was "The Band Mom" all 4 years of my sons high school career, he played in the jazz band, concert band, symphonic band and marching band. Those were good times and a great group of kids.

I volunteer sometimes with Operation Gratitude and they sometimes connect a country star to a concert on a base...last one was Kelly Pickler at Camp Pendelton and then Operation Gratitude gets some of the proceeds. I have asked them to try to have something at Point Mugu or Port Hueneme and they said they are looking for venues in those areas...active military gets in free and other prices were reasonable.  Also Trace played a the Ventura Fair this summer....darn I missed it but my girlfriend went and said it was a great show. We'll all have to keep an eye out and see what comes up.

Oh if you had asked me before I turned 40 I would have told you I hate country.  Love it now and am surprised that my Sailor does too!  I'd love to go see Trace Adkins or Toby Keith!  We'll have to see when there is a concert with someone a bunch of would like to see and see if we can get a group together.  That would be fun
