Hello! My name is Nikita. My son in bootcamp now (Division 81). He graduates on January 18th.
Had a Great time seeing our daughter over the weekend after PIR on 7/13. She is now settled as best as she can be for OS A school which she said she thought starts for her on Monday 7/23. Of course we forgot to get her new address. She said this week she has jobs to do until school starts. We were so upset leaving since her birthday is Wed, wished we could have stayed longer to visit with her but had to be back at work today:) Best of luck to all starting there A school. So glad they have there phones and communication will be a little easier.
My daughter graduates July 13 from boot camp then attends A school.
My son graduates next week and will go on to OS A school. Would love to hear from other moms/wives/gfs about your loved one’s experience.
How challenging was A school?
Do they like their job? Did they stay in the rate long term?
Was your loved one immediately deployed after school?
MyHusband
thank you. He did pretty good on the ASVAB. His original choice was a CTT but I think he would have had to wait longer to leave so he went with the OS.
Has anyone had a chance to do any real research into what it a OS does and how rigorous A School will be. My son told me yesterday that after this week he will be placed on hold until the next OS classes start and only then will his 12 weeks begin. The way things are going right now it's probably more of a blessing than a curse.
He's just finished Boot Camp. PIR was this past Friday. He told me there were a lot of OS's at A School. Maybe we can give this thread some new life.
I see no comments since 2015. Hoping to connect with other OS moms. I"m wondering how hard is the training to become an OS?
