For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello

It has been a long time since I have posted and I am sorry. I hope everyone has been able to connect with others in the PACT program. My son is now 3 and a half years in and it has been a great experience. He thought he wanted to be an AM. When he got on the ship, he was put with the AO’s. Now he is an AD3. It was best for him to start PACT because we didn’t know much about the Navy and he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. This has been a good route for him.

This is the space they have under their bunks in the berthing rooms...

Comment by BeachBunny on February 21, 2015 at 12:39pm: Here's what the boxes look like when they make it to the carriers: use extra tape inside and outside..I use color duct tape...have found some fun ones...at Thanksgiving mac and cheese tape, snowflake at Christmas, batman, superman, ghost at Halloween...have fun shipping the boxes.....

The gate will call for a duty driver to pick him up if he doesn't want to walk.. Mine walked with his bags out the gates for me to pick him up.... Really not as far as places they walk in Pcola...

I'll have to add some pictures later today...

Comment by BeachBunny on February 19, 2015 at 5:05pm: pretty much...I use the USPS priority flat rate mail boxes when shipping heavier items..you'll have to fill out a customs form, don't list any high $ items or bank cards as content just incase...I've had to ship out 2 ATM cards, one expired and one was compromised by hackers so I hid the cards in the cookies.....I put as much as I can in the box...your sailor will give you a FPO address and all boxes go thru the sorting center in Chicago before being air lift to the carrier.....usually takes 3-6 weeks...I did put the pillow in a space bag and sucked out all the air to ship, took my sailor to open with caution has contains will be bigger, he thought it was funny!..if shipping lighter weights item I just ship priority not the flat rate as it's usually cheaper, last box was only $8....favorite items( he works the flight deck): wipes for cleaning off face from jet flumes, bananas to wear under helmets, powered(Kool-Aid type) or drop favoring drink mixes, tea bags, oatmeal, granola bars, dried fruit, nuts, jerky, local newspaper( it's only 4 pages), antiseptic soap, travel size lotion, tuna snack packs, sent a big piece of smoked salmon, cheese and crackers for New Years...some like instant soup or oatmeal....
