While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello
It has been a long time since I have posted and I am sorry. I hope everyone has been able to connect with others in the PACT program. My son is now 3 and a half years in and it has been a great experience. He thought he wanted to be an AM. When he got on the ship, he was put with the AO’s. Now he is an AD3. It was best for him to start PACT because we didn’t know much about the Navy and he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. This has been a good route for him.

TAD=Temporary assigned duty...
Squadrons sharing trained personal for deployments not enough trained at this time...which means openings for APACT.

Holiday stand down does add a few extra wait weeks....2-4 month waits are pretty normal for waiting to "class up" in Pcola....good news is aviation is short handed right now so that means many will be picked up for a rating or placed in a squadron...too many TAD orders going on among the squadrons.

Happy Holidays Pact Group...
I've been on the Pcola group almost 3 years and been there many times ...seems most APACT go there for about 3-4 weeks....interesting that it's now 9 weeks, is that including hold time??
hummm, let us know for sure so the information on that site can up updated..this is what I've seen and know from sailors I met there....but then again, it's the Navy......:))
If your Sailor is in A-PACT, s/he will go to Pensacola for about 4 weeks of training after BC (it could be longer if s/he has to wait to begin the training and is in Holding). This training is basic aviation training not rate specific.
Following training, your Sailor most likely will go home for about 10 days of Leave before s/he heads to his/her first duty station where s/he will be an Undesignated Seaman, Undesignated Fireman, or Undesignated Airman. S/He will be assigned whatever job is needed within that field and receive on-the-job-training at his/her duty station/ship for the next 2 years on several jobs before s/he can "strike" for a rating and head off to "A" School. If your Sailor has an interest in an area that s/he is not assigned to s/he should take opportunities to learn more about that while at his/her first duty station. Your Sailor has a choice to make, if s/he finds something at the first duty station that s/he enjoys doing before the end of the 2 years and is eligible for the E-4 advancement exam, s/he can study for and take the 3rd Class (E-4) Exam for that rating. If s/he wants to do something other than one of the ratings at the first duty station, s/he must wait until the two years are up, and apply for the "A" School for that. The down side of that is s/he will not be able to advance to 3rd Class (E-4) until s/he has graduated from that "A" school.
