PACT Moms

Let's chat about our wonderful sons and daughters who have chosen the PACT program.

Hello

It has been a long time since I have posted and I am sorry. I hope everyone has been able to connect with others in the PACT program. My son is now 3 and a half years in and it has been a great experience. He thought he wanted to be an AM. When he got on the ship, he was put with the AO’s. Now he is an AD3. It was best for him to start PACT because we didn’t know much about the Navy and he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. This has been a good route for him.

Q'sMomKim, hi! Is your son's PIR date 1/30?

Welcome Zman's Mom!!! Are you A, E, or S PACT? Many in this group have great advice! My son is in boot camp at the moment and is A PACT.

I agree with Michael's mom. Try not to get to freaked out. My daughter said the hardest thing about boot camp is lack of sleep and no freedom. She said Battlestations is fun and not sure why everyone freaks out...her words.

Anyone in this group has a son/daughter that contracted for E-Pact or F-Pact, whatever it's called.  I see it both ways.  I see a lot of S-Pact and A-Pact, but nothing about E-Pact/F-Pact.  My son will be leaving 1/5/15 for GL.  I have spoken with another mom who has a son that contracted for this same thing.  Just wondering if there are more of us out there.

Brendan's Mom - So glad you got your letter!!!!

Leach73 - Thanks for the advice - 2 Fridays down!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Valtameri - yes! I recognized your name on this group! Hello again!

Michael's mom - My sailor is S-Pact. When she got to Norfolk in May, yes, she lived and worked on the ship. She put in a request for housing in July and now is in an apartment with another female sailor. She moved in to the apt. in Oct. She was on a waiting list and is much happier now that she doesn't have to stay on the ship.

Vickie360 - thanks for starting this group! Start counting down those Fridays! Write lots of letters! Remember it doesn't get easier, you just get stronger!

Take care!

Hey, Vickie360. The letter did indeed arrive in today's mail! I was so damned excited I nearly cried (again). His PIR is also 1/30. He's on Ship 11, Div 080.

Amazing what a little piece of mail can do for you!! My don arrived on Dec 3rd. His box came on Monday and the letter finally came yesterday-Thursday. I bet you will get yours today. I know the feeling- I thought I was going crazy! It looks like graduation is jan 30 and 4 guests are invited.

Thanks, Vickie360. If I'm remembering correctly, I think our sons flew out to RTC on the same date. Have you rec'd the form letter yet? I'm chomping at the bit to get mine.
