This group is for those with loved ones who had PIR on 10/07/2011. (PIR is short for Pass-in-Review and just means graduate from Boot Camp.)
It was an amazing ceremony, an amazing opportunity to see our Sailors perform and participate as an entire group, amazing to hear that wonderful Liberty call and completely overwhelming to get those long awaited hugs.
It is our desire that this Group will provide the information, encouragement, and support you need while your loved one continues their Navy Journey. We are hoping you will continue to come back and update everyone on that journey and continue to seek support and encouragement from friends you have already made here.
Enjoy your time here and feel free to Comment and join in the Discussions. Be sure to check out the information in the "Pages" section to the right. This is information that will be of interest to all Members. (You will need to click on "View All" to see all of them.)
Please review the Community Guidelines and keep OPSEC in mind when you post. If you would not want an enemy to know something, then do not post it here because this is NOT a secure site and the enemy lurks. Please do not post your Sailor's last name and NEVER his/her full name. Also do not use your full name, especially if your last name is the same as your Sailor's. If your Sailor provides specific information about events that will occur, please keep that to yourself and do not post the day/time on here since this information may be sensitive and is not to be shared.

I'm so glad you get her for 2 weeks! I know it won't be enough, but please give her a hug from all of us.
One thing I was thinking about, what if, once our sailors are stationed, we start a private discussion/page with addresses or something? I would be happy to gather them up with email addresses of all who would like to participate and email them out in spreadsheets. Then, we could send all of our Sailors in this group holiday/birthday cards, and if there was a particular need for somebody where they are stationed, we could rally up and help if possible.
What do you all think about that idea?
If you like it, I'm thinking you would need to send me the following:
1. Your real email address
2. Your Sailors name/address/birthday/relevant holidays
Don't send just yet - let's get a count of who would participate and just see. I would kind of be like Adopt a Sailor, but just sending a little extra love from our moms along the way. Just a thought.
Two and half weeks ago we got to see our Sailors and now in 10 days I get to see mine again. She will be home for roughly 16 days before she heads over to Japan. Those 2 weeks will be the best, but hardest weeks. So proud of all of our Sailors!!!
