Welcome to all Anticipating PIR 10/7/2011!!

This group is for those with loved ones who had PIR on 10/07/2011. (PIR is short for Pass-in-Review and just means graduate from Boot Camp.)

It was an amazing ceremony, an amazing opportunity to see our Sailors perform and participate as an entire group, amazing to hear that wonderful Liberty call and completely overwhelming to get those long awaited hugs.

It is our desire that this Group will provide the information, encouragement, and support you need while your loved one continues their Navy Journey. We are hoping you will continue to come back and update everyone on that journey and continue to seek support and encouragement from friends you have already made here.

Enjoy your time here and feel free to Comment and join in the Discussions. Be sure to check out the information in the "Pages" section to the right. This is information that will be of interest to all Members.  (You will need to click on "View All" to see all of them.)

Hi everyone - my son graduated today - and needless to say it was fantastic!!!

I wanted to share with you that I saw some of your recruits today.  After the ceremony we were waiting for my son outside the NEX and along came division 332!  They had two or three flags in addition to their number flag and division flag.  They had a tiny little female cadence caller that was doing a great job.  I thought they looked like they really had it together!  I had no idea we'd see random divisions marching around - it was great!

There is a scripture that I have kept in my mind as I have raised my kids....and this week's letters have shown me, they listen!!!!

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it"
Proverbs 22:6

And I really hope I do not offend anyone by posting this.....

I don't like it either but it happens all too frequently! As long as our SRs stay strong and don't let discouraging things such as these get to them, they can do anything!!!!!

I commend her for that, hopefully whoever is saying those things to her needs to keep what they feel to themselves. I don't like when people feel the need to tell you what or whatnot to believe in. That is your choice that is why we live in America to have that freedom. Our Children have decided to help protect that freedom. God Bless them all. I'm so proud of my SR as I am so proud of them all that are in our armed services.

Thanks Nuke Mom! It is sad but I also reminded her that she is serving in the military to protect everyone's freedom of speech and freedom to worship (or not) as they want among others. It is very sad to me that someone who has sworn to uphold the Constitution would do that but that was her choice. I love my daughter's choice in staying steadfast and immovable in her faith!!!!

God Bless Her ibsgirl, That is good for her, As long as she has her faith she will be just fine. Sad that where ever you go you always have a bully. Those words even made me feel good. :)

3 weeks ladies!!!! To me, the time has flown by. I have tried to stay busy and of course with 4 kids still in school here, that keeps me extremely busy! I have been thinking about my SR a lot today and praying that everything is going well for her division and her! I got letters this week and she was having a hard time with the fact that her bunk mate was verbally attacking her for her religious beliefs and faith. But her words at the end of her letter made my heart swell with pride:

"Every day boot camp tries my faith....and every day I show boot camp that I am the light of the world and it can never diminish that light. "For with God nothing shall be impossible" Luke 1:37

I know she is strong and can make it through anything! She was writing to get encouragement from me and she ended up lifting my spirits and reminding me to let my light shine before men!!!!!!
