Welcome to all Anticipating PIR 10/7/2011!!

This group is for those with loved ones who had PIR on 10/07/2011. (PIR is short for Pass-in-Review and just means graduate from Boot Camp.)

It was an amazing ceremony, an amazing opportunity to see our Sailors perform and participate as an entire group, amazing to hear that wonderful Liberty call and completely overwhelming to get those long awaited hugs.

It is our desire that this Group will provide the information, encouragement, and support you need while your loved one continues their Navy Journey. We are hoping you will continue to come back and update everyone on that journey and continue to seek support and encouragement from friends you have already made here.

Enjoy your time here and feel free to Comment and join in the Discussions. Be sure to check out the information in the "Pages" section to the right. This is information that will be of interest to all Members.  (You will need to click on "View All" to see all of them.)

Please review the Community Guidelines and keep OPSEC in mind when you post. If you would not want an enemy to know something, then do not post it here because this is NOT a secure site and the enemy lurks. Please do not post your Sailor's last name and NEVER his/her full name. Also do not use your full name, especially if your last name is the same as your Sailor's. If your Sailor provides specific information about events that will occur, please keep that to yourself and do not post the day/time on here since this information may be sensitive and is not to be shared.

Well - I didn't win - I can't compete with these crazies!  :-)  So Nuke Mom - every Tuesday and Wednesday, the RTC holds a contest and you win a pic of your SR's division.  The have the rules listed so I won't repeat them all here.  Trivia Tuesday - they post a question and you answer it.  Wacky Wednesday (previously Mixed-up Monday), they post a messed up picture and you have to say what it is.  Seriously - people answer in miliseconds!  I think I was 3 seconds today, and still lost being about the 23rd person to post!  Of course I didn't even have the right answer in my hurry I put Firearms training instead of Weapons Training.  It's pretty funny though.  People get crazy for these pics.

Thanks, Lala... That is my plan.  But I know she would feel better if she was on the list.
Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on September 14, 2011 at 8:13am
If you can't find a list to put her on take her anyway. The extra guest are first come first serve. Get there as early as you possibly can. The earlier you get there the better her chance of getting in. We took 4 extra guests, we got there early and they didn't even have to wait because we were so early. We also had 13 DIV graduating. So there is a good chance she can get in to see PIR.
Comment by Bucksmom on September 14, 2011 at 8:01am
If I understood correctly from my son's PIR, extra people can go to the base (with a printed car pass) and wait in the visitors center.  About 15 minutes before the ceremony starts they will allow these guests in...IF there is room.  However, this is a very large group, 13 divisions where as my sons PIR group was only 7 divisions.  There is no guarantee they will get in but there is a chance.
