Welcome to all Anticipating PIR 10/7/2011!!

This group is for those with loved ones who had PIR on 10/07/2011. (PIR is short for Pass-in-Review and just means graduate from Boot Camp.)

It was an amazing ceremony, an amazing opportunity to see our Sailors perform and participate as an entire group, amazing to hear that wonderful Liberty call and completely overwhelming to get those long awaited hugs.

It is our desire that this Group will provide the information, encouragement, and support you need while your loved one continues their Navy Journey. We are hoping you will continue to come back and update everyone on that journey and continue to seek support and encouragement from friends you have already made here.

Enjoy your time here and feel free to Comment and join in the Discussions. Be sure to check out the information in the "Pages" section to the right. This is information that will be of interest to all Members.  (You will need to click on "View All" to see all of them.)

Please review the Community Guidelines and keep OPSEC in mind when you post. If you would not want an enemy to know something, then do not post it here because this is NOT a secure site and the enemy lurks. Please do not post your Sailor's last name and NEVER his/her full name. Also do not use your full name, especially if your last name is the same as your Sailor's. If your Sailor provides specific information about events that will occur, please keep that to yourself and do not post the day/time on here since this information may be sensitive and is not to be shared.

Lala, thanks for sharing the pics. They are a lovely couple. Prayers for them that they heal from their bumps and bruises and that things work out after the accident, but mostly that they have a long and blessed marriage.

BQB, enjoy your time with your Sailor. Mine gets in Tuesday night and I think we have him for 3 weeks.

Ahh ladies. My sailor is almost at the end of his journey - I guess I am at the end of the journey too. It's been my pleasure to share and past on my experience and knowledge - what good is it to keep to myself? I am old enough to be a mom to many of you - remember that when I say something terribly old fashioned with a delivery somewhat stiff. I should say, thank you for letting me relive the joy of graduation w you all. Oh --- the tears - my makeup - could barely operate the camera!

Lala Ribbon - what a beautiful couple!

I promised to post pics so here you are lol. My daughter's wedding was beautiful. I am waiting on the good pics from the photographer but I will add a couple that I took to this message. Right after the wedding she and her husband were in a car accident and totaled their vehicle. They are both fine, only a few bruises and the lady who hit them was taken to the hospital and released but she is going to be fine too. Please keep them all in your prayers. We are off now to try and help them get a rental car because they have to go back to VA tomorrow. Thanks everyone, all my friends on this site mean the world to me :-)

FTLW - seriously fantastic info. I'm so excited to see the sunshine under that door! Appreciate the support all those who have already experienced are providing.

BQB - my prayer is for you today. I know you will enjoy every precious second with your Sailor. We are crying because we haven't seen our SRs for a few weeks and yet, here you are providing encouragement to us when you have been missing yours for months. You, Diane, FTLW, lemonelephant, and more - thank you so much for the service of your Sailors and the sacrifices of your families. Pretty soon we will be at PIR and we will be celebrating. But today and for the next 13 days, I'm celebrating your reunion. That made my day even better today. Thanks for sharing.
