Welcome to all Anticipating PIR 10/7/2011!!

This group is for those with loved ones who had PIR on 10/07/2011. (PIR is short for Pass-in-Review and just means graduate from Boot Camp.)

It was an amazing ceremony, an amazing opportunity to see our Sailors perform and participate as an entire group, amazing to hear that wonderful Liberty call and completely overwhelming to get those long awaited hugs.

It is our desire that this Group will provide the information, encouragement, and support you need while your loved one continues their Navy Journey. We are hoping you will continue to come back and update everyone on that journey and continue to seek support and encouragement from friends you have already made here.

Enjoy your time here and feel free to Comment and join in the Discussions. Be sure to check out the information in the "Pages" section to the right. This is information that will be of interest to all Members.  (You will need to click on "View All" to see all of them.)

Please review the Community Guidelines and keep OPSEC in mind when you post. If you would not want an enemy to know something, then do not post it here because this is NOT a secure site and the enemy lurks. Please do not post your Sailor's last name and NEVER his/her full name. Also do not use your full name, especially if your last name is the same as your Sailor's. If your Sailor provides specific information about events that will occur, please keep that to yourself and do not post the day/time on here since this information may be sensitive and is not to be shared.

They definitely look black to me lol, I even held up black fabric to try and see if there was a difference but there was none.

Someone on the 10/14 group just confirmed that they will be switching to the Dress Blues on Oct 3rd, so that is what your new sailors will be wearing at PIR!  I love both dress uniforms, but am partial to the Dress Blues....so dark...almost black....very sharp!

My son is in ship 3 div 335, you should get something tomorrow. My son also said he is going to call his girlfriend first.

Vuke's mom - my son is in DIV335 and we still have not gotten anything like you said maybe tomorrow, but just know you are not alone!  It's difficult to read about others getting calls and letters and I just keep wishing it was me!

lol - me TOO!  and not just a 'wee bit' but a 'huge bit'!!  My SR told me he was going to call his sister first anyway - he's such a booger.
Comment by Vuke's Mom on September 1, 2011 at 5:23pm
I'm happy for them too, but also a wee bit jealous! :)

Vukesmom - who knows?  :-)  Personally wishing for 947, but happy for all with letters and calls!
