For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by adrienne ship 09 div 199 on June 22, 2012 at 9:53am: I am praying to God that I receive the "I'm a Sailor" phone call today....I believe he would've gone through battlestations last night. I am carrying my phone around all day and have informed my coworkers to yell if my phone rings :-)

Don't know what your plans are - or what will be going on at RTC - but if you look at the RTC site they have posted information about the 3 and 4th of July events that families can attend. It looks great. Maybe you can go a day or so early and catch all a patriotism before PIR. July 6th - great day to graduate BC. Maybe even getting the "I'm a sailor" call on Independence Day. It will work out and still be great. Stay strong.

Comment by Jill on June 21, 2012 at 10:17pm: DanaVann: So sorry to hear of your change in plans, but thought I would let you know, (cause I just went through this) La Quinta Inn, 847-317-7300 still has affordable rooms available. Took me like 20 calls to find this, everyone else was booked. My son just got transferred to this PIR date after being in RCU, so we only had a short time to make reservations also. One of the Marriott's did too, but they were horribly expensive. Good luck to you and your SR, and don't worry, everything will be fine!
