Hi, according to what I've read here it looks like Division 199 will do battlestations today or tomorrow?? Have you gotten a confirmed date from anyone in this division?
I'm so sorry to hear about the SRs having trouble with the PFA. In the letter I received from my son last week, he said he passed his PFA. So Div 203 must have taken theirs earlier?? He did not mention anyone in his division struggling to pass the PFA, but he did say there were a few who were still struggling with drill. (Thank you marching band and Drumline!)
I pray those who are working hard to pass their PFA see their hard work pay off by meeting their goal and that they march into that drill hall Friday!!
I was worried about the times the calls come in because I have a doctor's appointment at 9:30 and I don't get service when I'm there. It's good to know that they dont' start calling until around 2:00.
Renee, I used my ribbons last year when my daughter graduated from boot camp and people at PIR kept asking where I bought it. They really stand out during graduation and they are beautiful.
I am also sorry to hear about others not passing PFA. I know it's hard as a parent but they still have a chance and they do their best to help them pass. My son was held back because of fractures and he did not graduate with his original division. Yes, it was hard when I read about the other division graduating and not being there with him during what I know was a difficult time, but he didn't give up. He only sounded down one time but stayed positive the rest of the time. I'm hoping all goes well and I will get a sailor's call today. My prayers are with your children that they will pass their PFA's.
Renee, thanks so much, I am so glad your love your ribbons and that is so sweet that your grandbaby is practicing Anchor's Aweigh. So precious :-D If you want to repost your picture just cover the first couple of letters on the ones with the name and it should be fine :-)
I am so sorry to hear some are having a hard time with the PFA. Just know that the RDC's really want them to pass and so does the whole division. They will all work with them and try to help them get it done. I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
Been told that 195/196 went through last night. Not sure if 197/198 was with them? Anyone know!
Anyway, if divisions went through last night, "I'm a Sailor" calls can start coming in today as early as 2pm GL time...but can come later too. Phones handy all day! Please ask if all in the division passed and post that on here. There will be some who cannot make calls because they have "watch." Their families will want to know that they passed...so they don't have to wait until they get the phone call (hopefully those who missed the division calls can call later in the day or tomorrow).
Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone had gotten the "I'm a sailor call" yet? :) I wasn't sure when the SRs would start going thru Battle Stations. I would look thru the past messages but I have about 1 min before I have to wake my son up. I appologize.
mareluc: That is a very odd thing that he was told. If he failed his PFA, then he keeps trying M-W-F until he passes. Fri 6/22 is the first time he can retake it, but if he doesn't pass then, he gets more tries next week. The latest he can pass and still make his 06/29 PIR would be Wed. He would then go through BattleStations with the next group, even if it is the night before PIR. He would be at PIR, but possibly in the balcony, too tired to march after being up all night.
I think he was given incorrect info.
IF he doesn't pass his PFA before his PIR, then he will stay in the FIT PROGRAM and keep trying to pass. Once he does, he will go through BattleStations with the next group and head straight to A School....no PIR...if he doesn't make it before his own PIR.
Only way he would have to wait 2 weeks for his PIR is if he has been asmoed (setback) for another reason other than failing the PFA.
Raeveness....sorry to hear about your SR. My prayers that she will pass next time.
diannep - one mom also said tonight her son failed his pfa. She said he is retaking it on 6/22 but he has to wait two weeks for PIR - do you know why if he passes he can't do battlestations with another division and still graduate with division on 6/29?
How adorable, Renee! So cute!
raeveness: She has time! The FIT PROGRAM works hard with these SRs. They want to see them graduate with their group. SO prayers that she will get it done. She should be able to try again on Friday, and again Mon and Wed if necessary and still make her PIR. They will have a BattleStations the night before her PIR...so if need be, she can go through that one (next PIR group) and be at her PIR. Tired and probably in the bleachers, but there! If she passes before then, she will go with an earlier BattleStations group and have no problems marching with her division at PIR.
Did you join the FIT PROGRAM group? Here's the link if you haven't. They are very helpful/supportive on that group:

Hang in there...we're rooting for her!
Welcome, Jill! So glad that your SR has resumed training!
diannep, He has my husband's last name...not mine, but I can delete it.
mommafinn, I ordered them through Lala Ribbon Queen. My daughter and grandchildren arrived this morning, so I'll be knee-deep in grandchildren until we all leave for GL. My 3 1/2 yr old grandaughter was telling me where port, starboard, bow, and stern were...and that the navy calls the bathroom "the head." She is practicing Anchors Away and her salute! Guess who her favorite uncle is!
