Ladies, just remember that your SRs are still in the very hard part of bootcamp...it is especially emotionally/mentally hard. By training week #4 (which is usually bootcamp week #5 or 6), there is a turnaround. By then, they have accomplished alot and know they can do it. They also are then within just 2-3 weeks of becoming sailors. So...hang in there...this is still the breaking down period for them...to get all on the same page....with such diversity in the SRs from all types of experiences, expectations, ages, etc...they have to learn to work as a team...so crucial to the Navy, of course. The buildup process begins soon and that is a much more positive experience for them.
Good Morning!
Keep busy, ladies---- your SR is encouraged just knowing that you are there if they need them. They needed to hear your voice, even if all the time they have is to say "hi" and "I love you". Some are experiencing this lack of communication for the first time, and it is rough, but they are smart, and strong, and brave... they can and will handle this!
My prayer today is for health. So many people, so little sleep, (good food, I have heard), such taxing physical demands...
Happy Thursday, friends.
Received a letter yesterday. He is taking it all in stride. He said most of the guys in 814 are pretty cool and they are working great together. He has a great deal of respect for his "drill sergeant". (Well most of the time ;-D ) I thought he would do just fine but it is always good to hear from him that this is where he wants to be. It is a long road ahead for 814 guys and it is good to hear they are off to such a good start.
Lala - enjoy your family and graduations!!!!!
LaurieS - it broke my heart too! I was only able to speak with him less than 2 min. I wish we could have spoken longer so I could have given him some encouragement! Hopefully things will start to pick up for them all! We are moms - worrying is what we do :( Just wrote him a 2 page letter full or encouragement and telling him how proud I was of him! I hope by the time he gets it he is doing better!
Thanks Renee We definitely will :-)
Lori,
Enjoy the time with your family and celebrate those milestones!
YAY for letters, there should be more tomorrow :-)
I hope everyone had a great day. I have been super busy today getting as much ahead as I can. My son and step-daughter graduate this Saturday and my Sailor is coming home tomorrow for graduation :-) I won't be on here as much as normal over the next couple days but I will check in as much as I can and be checking my emails. If anyone has any questions or needs any info at all you can always email me at uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com I hope you all have a wonderful weekend :-)
