Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by Shelly on May 23, 2012 at 7:01pm: I got a phone call just now!!!! He is sick, but he said most of his shipmates are too. We got about 30 minutes to talk. It's so good to hear his voice. We were able to confirm he will be leaving for A school on Saturday. Oh what joy just a few minutes make. I hope that a lot of Moms get calls too!

My son is quite sure that he will be flying out to Mississippi for A school and I know that no one knows if it will be Saturday or Sunday....I now have to rearrange my plans of stay. I was going to stay until late Sunday, but now I have to come back early Sunday.....I guess the good thing is that I will be able to see him graduate and spend atleast that day with him. My question is will I be able to give him his cell phone and laptop when I see him or does that have to be given to him at the airport? What I'm concerned about is if he leaves on Sunday afternoon or evening I won't be there to give it to him if he can only receive it at the airport.........
