tatmom4rc: Yes, you are correct. The "requesting info" calls are "supervised" calls with Navy personnel right there with them. So they do sound very much "to the point" and professional! So glad you got to talk to him!
Thanks - Forgot to mention that at the end he said that he would call in the next 2-3 weeks when they had privileges. I remember as a teenager he thought it was his "right" to not only talk on the phone, but to have a cell phone of his own. A whole new world.
tatmom4rc - yeah so glad you got to speak to your son!!!!!
I haven't checked the mail yet - but even if I don't get a letter I am on cloud nine. My SR called me on my cell - I happen to be eating lunch (with my son's father - my ex- exchanging items that belonged to our SR) . My son was very formal and official sounding - needed info for his clearance paperwork. Said he would call and leave all the details on my home phone. I handed the phone to his dad so he could hear is voice as well. We were both pleased. I guess our son had already called his dad at his house. His father doesn't like cell phones much - mine is by my side ever since my son left - just for this opportunity. We decided that someone must have been near by. My son was pretty mono-tone and direct. Still it was great to hear his voice. He sounded strong.
juliebelle, They are Boykin Spaniels. Great field and water hunting dogs. About 25-35 pounds. They sort of look like a Cocker, but are all brown. I highly recommend this very intelligent family dog. My two are in my profile picture modeling the bowties I made their human brother.
Got my letter today!!!!!!!!! I was a long 3 weeks but now I feel so much better! He sounds exhausted by extremely happy! Hang in there!!!!!
Went home for lunch and was so very happy to find our first actual letter in the mailbox from our daughter! Actually, it was two letters in one envelope, one written on May 5 and the other on May 13. I'm ginning from ear to ear! She did say that their first day of actual training was May 7th, so I'm guessing that makes today 2-4. One step closer every day!
Adorable, Bob's Mom. I know you are thrilled they are going to good homes, but will miss your "babies!"
Bob's Mom, the puppies are so adorable. I am glad they all have good homes. I know you will miss them.
Good morning everyone! Hope this is a GREAT day for all! BJA57 - love the prayer for our SR's today! I hope our two sons are laughing with each other and the rest of the Division! Bob's Mom - nicely said! love the puppies!!!!!
