Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

We had five of them and they are all going to their new homes this weekend. I'll be in funk next week so I want to be able to hear that you've all heard from your SRs!Reminder, only share the good things that happen to your SR. Keep the personal complaints to yourself. #1 It's a downer for everyone else. #2 The RDCs read this site and your SR could be doing extra pushups for something you innocently posted.

I made the huge mistake of going through pictures last night (oh, yeah-- 30 years of childrearing in boxes ;( ) My advise is do not do this!!! haahaa But, you know what? It was a wonderful reminder of how far we have all come. That the hopes of that small child have morphed into the hope of the future! The smiles are still there, the tears wiped away and replaced by determination and pride and courage.

My prayer today is that our sailors (because I am sure some of them know each other!!) encourage one another, and as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. They spur each other on to do their best. And-- at the end of the day, they have something to smile about. My son is very clever and witty, I hope that he says something that will make yours laugh.

I hope your day goes well. My thoughts are with you all......
