Has anyone purchased their airline tickets yet? I was about to and then I got nervous. I don't want the planes to fill up. Is it too early to buy them?
shannon: That would be "bootcamp week 2", not training week 2. Training weeks are 6 weeks long, and sandwiched in between processing days (which can go from a few days to 10 days, depending on when a SR arrived there)...and the days between BattleStations and PIR. The divisions should be getting ready to start training week #1 later this week. Lowest-numbered divisions start first...but the others are within a couple of days of them in their start.
Be sure to ask your SR what week/day they are on if they call or write. Training days are 1-5. Weekends/holidays don't count as training days. They will do BattleStations on 6-5 (week 6/day 5).
Tomorrow marks the end of week 2 for the May 1 shippers?
Week three..... any know what's going on? Maybe it is better not to know. When SWCC son went through drown-proofing, I didn't want to know until it was over!
Our children are stronger than they think, smarter than the know, and we are prouder than they ever imagined!!
Marvelous Monday!
Good Morning everyone and Happy Monday. Celebrate the joys each and every day has to offer and know that each one of those days brings you closer to seeing your Sailor <3
Twinzplus: Why not make the banners and decorate your car or hotel room with them instead?
Good morning all!
Thanks so much mareluc; I appreciate that.
Yes Navy mami? :-)
Twinzplus- They don't allow banners, posters, or signs at PIR because they would block the view of other families who are there to see their Sailors graduate. A mom was there and just as her son's division began to march in another mom who was obviously very excited to see her Sailor held up a poster and blocked the view of the mom behind her and caused her to miss seeing her son march by. They want everyone to be able to try to find their Sailor as the march in and to be able to take pictures as well. When I was there I didn't see any banners or signs at all. You could always get one and hang it in your hotel room for him to see :-)
Calls for Recruits.org would like you to know about a program for the Men and Women of our Armed Forces. I am giving away free phone cards for Recruits to use while they are in basic training to keep in touch with Family Members and Loved Ones. I feel that the Family, Loved Ones, nor the Men and Women of our Armed Forces should have to pay for phone calls from Boot Camp. Please click the link above and get your new Service Member the FREE phone cards they need.
