desireenavygf.  I agree. It is a good idea to buy a card with 600 minutes. It will save you from having to constantly mail him new cards. Activating the card for your SR is a great suggestion. Saves your SR a lot of time.

Hi ladies. Yes, they do need phone cards. A really good place to buy them is at Walmart. Make sure you buy one with lots of minutes. This is because the phones there use up the minutes really quick.  We ended up buying 3 phone cards.  For some reason every time my son called me it took 30 minutes off the phone card.

Sorry ladies and please don't cry be strong but yes they do need phone cards. Your husband is right mobile companies do not allow collect calls to cell phones.so please get a phone card to them asap. I sent my sr with a verizion phone card that had 600 mins. And just a little advice activate it for them before you send it so they don't waste time activating and like 1st love said make a copy of front and back to refill. What I also did was I wrote the 2 important numbers that he would need on the phone card it self just in case he forgot our cell phone numbers. I hope this helps ladies. Keep your chin up ladies.

Mattsmom sorry but yes they need phone cards. Please get one in mail tomorrow. I think the only other way is a collect call. I just prayed for you

Mattsmom- my son is in 09/323 also and we didn't get a call either. Never left the phone. No land line hopefully some one can answer your question so we both know

Ok so a couple of moms in Matt's div 09/323 got calls but not me. Someone please tell me that he does not need a phone card to call home. If I missed call because of that I'm going to cry and not stop. We don't have land line only mobile phones and husband (thinks he knows all) says you can't call collect to mobiles. PLEASE SAVE ME FROM RED PUFFY EYES!!!!!!!!

My daughters have all carried their phones in their bras at sometime or another.  Mine just won't stay there, but it is always with me and the ringer is on high!
