desiree, Dianne is right.  I still sometimes get tears in my eyes when I see something that my son likes in the grocery store or when I hear songs that remind me of him.  It's the kinds of things that you don't even think would affect you, that really seem to.  I would concentrate on the times to come and not the times that have passed.  Just think by Monday, your countdown clock will be in the 30's.  I remember that those last 30 days seemed to go much faster than the first few weeks.  You can do this!

Now...THAT is so hard, desiree.  I remember the first time I went to the grocery store after my hubby died....and passing the food that I would buy just for him...terrible.  Found myself reaching for it...and then stopping myself. Went through it again when my 2 sons moved out the same month....I don't like food shopping for just myself!

What you are going through is very normal...one day at a time here!  Emotional ups and downs right now.  It will get better!

Hello Ladies i hope you ladies had a good day today. I was doing ok but then i  went grocery shopping and had a total melt down. It was my first going grocery shopping since he left. I thought i was ready for it but when i got in there i felt so overwhelmed and i couldnt take it. I started crying in the store and i cried the whole way home. I dont know whats wrong with me....

ftlw, Wow, what a wonderful vacation.  I was in Sea World, in San Diego, last year with my Navy son and I remember how proud I was when they asked all the military to stand.  My son was a week away from going to boot camp and I cried.   I hope you post pictures of your dolphin adventures.  How fun!  Enjoy your time with your hubby.  ((hugs))

ProudMilitaryMom, I will be hoping for letters for you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies.  I have actually missed reading your notes.   I appreciate all the kind words from my motherly break down the other night! I work at a male prison and needless to say bad stuff happened and I was working a ton! I still have not received a letter and hate to say this but glad the other 900 DIV families are still missing theirs as well.>> Who knows Maybe tomorrow will be OUR day! Happy for you Desiree

Ladies-I have to apologize for being MIA for a while. You see my DH came home from a six month tour in Iraq about 5 weeks ago. Post-deployment is...real. As is Pre-deployment-or what I equal to h*** on earth-and the actual deployment. So been busy reconnecting and adjusting- but EXTREMELY happy!

Even though separation is hard we have been blessed to make our marriage stronger...even after 31 years together. It can be done ladies!

God is good.

I have GOT to go and do some chores. I'll be back to talk to you wives out there and send you a link to a group on here for spouses.

I am a 27 year AF reserve wife. Have had two deployments. Our son is in the Navy.

I have made ALL the mistakes and had great joys!

Be back soon!

Betsy-that video just makes me catch my breath! Thank you!

I went to Sea World this past weekend with my DH. He returned back to work, after a six month tour in Iraq, this week...so we took a mini vacation.

We are Sea World addicts. We, I LOL, spent three hours at the dolphin pool. DH answered a question and won us time with a dolphin. I was THRILLED and HE was so proud to be able to make me so happy.

SW honors their military by giving them free entrance for a day...along with three other family members.

At the Shamu show...they ask them and their families to stand and be recognized (along with any allied forces in the audience) it always makes me cry...every time!

It's amazing.
