MattsMom:  If your son pays for the pictures, he has the option to mail them to you or give them to you after PIR.  If you will be paying for them, then you will have to wait until after PIR to pay for them/pick them up in the NEX.

desiree:  I have the utmost respect for women who "stand by" their military men...it is a very challenging life....but what strength they have when they are "there" for them at all times.  I have talked to my son about this many times as he is afraid to get married while in the Navy because of thinking she won't be able to handle the separations.

As I have told many on this site, bootcamp is a small taste of what is yet to come.  If they are assigned "ship" duty first, there will be some long separations. Although there is some contact during that time, it is sporadic and can't be promised.  I think the best gift you can give your SR is to let him know that you are with him, through thick and thin, and you will support him no matter what.  That is a huge commitment on your part, for sure, and involves many sacrifices.  But if you can do it, what strength you all will have in your relationship.

Our military men and women need to know that we are here for them, at all times, taking care of the "homefront" and praying for them.  I know what I'm saying here is so very hard, especially if you are used to be together all of the time, and being in touch all of the time.  But hang in there...if you can do this, it will be the best gift that you can ever give to him!

p.s.  "A" School is just around the corner!  A good thing!

Ship 09/Div 323 - Does anyone have any idea when we might get copies of the Uniform pictures? I really want to see what my boy looks like all decked out.
