For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by diannep on August 13, 2011 at 10:26am: 1stlove: As you can see from the wonderful responses to your emotions by the ladies on here...this is the place for you to cry, laugh, scream, whatever...because you will have huge support here. Bootcamp is not only hard for the SRs ....it is very hard for those left behind! But we are here for you....

Just remember....this is a time of growth not only for your SR, but for you. There are lessons to be learned in every emotion we feel....and all on here are here to help when one is in that "pit." We can't bring your SR back to you right now....but we can sure give you great hugs and encouragement until that wonderful day when your SR is in your arms again! You will be even more proud of her than you have ever been in your life! So...eye on the "prize!" And lots of letters flowing from your home to her! That is the best "gift" you can give her right now...other than constant heart-felt prayers daily!

Just a suggestion. We N4Mom veterans on here suggest that you all do not use your SR's first name or picture on here. Just because the RDCs (their "bosses" in bootcamp!) read this page and we would like to keep your comments separate from your SR. Last names on here are prohibited by OPSEC.

So please consider changing your screen names/icon piks if they have the name/face of your SR!

The first time was at the Navy Recruiter's Office as I said good bye to my son. My son's recruiter was very kind and assured my son that this was normal. He said that Moms find this the hardest. I remember crying on many occasions while he was in boot camp.

I can say that it is all worth it in the end.

Comment by Betsy, mom of Stennis sailor on August 12, 2011 at 11:21pm: Hello ladies, I'm Betsy and also a "veteran" mom. It took me a couple of days to get on here, because I've been babysitting my 2 grandchildren for the last couple of days and they manage to keep me pretty busy. :)

The first sailor in our family is my youngest son. He enlisted in March of his senior year of high school and graduated from BC in Dec. 2010. He is the youngest of my five children and is now attending A school to become a Cryptological Technician in Pensacola.

We are also blessed to have another sailor soon to become part of our family. My daughter's fiance is on a nuke sub and is stationed in Hawaii where my daughter is currently living there with him.

Welcome to our wonderful crazy Navy mom life. :( Can't wait to get to know all of you.
