LOL.. so true Maketel1... a hundred times a day, at least.  And now a year has passed.  It has been a long year with him so far away.  He is getting anxious to get off the island and back to civilization.  I've been sending him boxes of candy and cookies.  He says everything there is stale and old.  EEEewww.  First box of cookies where crumbled and crumbs, but he didn't care.  He shared them with the office and everyone loved them.  In the second box the cookies made it in one piece.  YAY!!  Hopefully I can get another box out for Thanksgiving.

Musicmom:  Yes, bc did drag on; felt like I was frozen in time.    Wow, that is awesome; so glad he is loving it.

Our prayers and sympathies to Proudmom.. and we will continue to pray for you and your family through out the next months. Wish we could all come and be with you.

I can't believe it's been a whole year since PIR.  It's amazing how fast this time has gone after it seemed like bootcamp dragged on for an eternity!

Wonderful news of our Sailor from "our" PIR , so great to hear of the forward movement of All.  Culinary is pretty interesting i have to say.  I hope your sailor loves it Musicmom.  My Sailor/Airman is stationed in Jacksonville, FL waiting the start of his schooling for the P3's.  He was home for a week to say his good byes to his Grandma, yes very emotional but so happy they got that time.  He is now back to the warm weather and just 6 more weeks til school starts.  Yep that's our little world here.

My sailor is now in Yokosuka Japan.  He made almost all the way through A school at Nuke School but just barely missed passing his final test.  So he had to pick something else.  He ended up picking Culinary School because it seemed like it would give him a lot of choices as far as where he was stationed.  He put Japan #1 on his dream list and he got it.  He's having a ball.  : )
