Thanks Lisa.  Do you know if there is a limit to how many a sailor can receive or how long it takes to get to them?

Last name of your sailor (if the last name is longer than 6 letters, it will be the first 6 letters) plus his first and middle initial@name of his sub (ie:  alabama)-crew color (blue or gold).navy.mil.  Hope this helps.

I've tried to find information about how the email process works for submarines and everything I found is from 2009/10.  Does anyone have current information about emailing to/from a sub?

Lori, a CS is a Culinary Specialist.  We live on the KS side of Kansas City.

I wanted to respond, but got a little busy over the weekend.  And then with all the activity I thought it might be weird to answer so many pages later.   And frankly, my iphone screen is to small to read without glasses and I hate wearing those.  And N4M app is so small, I check the email's and only post when on my laptop.

Lisa, thank you--that helps a lot. Now I can judge a size a bit better.

Hi LoriM - the size box I usually send with my Sailor son is about the size a toaster would come in.  So far, he hasn't told me that has been too big. Hope this helps :)

Hi ladies, about what size shoe box should I use for the halfway box, women's box or men's box? Thank you.

Since my fiance has retired from the Navy, I haven't been on this site so often. Hence, I've given Lori Group Admin ranking in case anything should happen to me. Stay safe, everyone!

So just a little bit more regarding halfway boxes.  These are boxes that your sailor will take with them when they leave with instructions not to open until they have their "Halfway" night.  It is a bit of a celebration and a little bit more relaxed.  It signals that they are halfway through their patrol.  I have included things in my sailor's halfway box such as:  jerky, paperback books, DVDs, red bull, any type of candy they like which won't melt, seasonings they may like, tabasco sauce, bbq sauce (ones with lots of vinegar so they don't have to be refrigerated, pictures, magazines, socks, toothpaste, floss, etc. Hope this helps!

Hello GoNavyBeatArmy, my son serves on the Gold Crew. Your comments made me so proud and a little teary.  Hope you don't mind, I passed your comments along to him. Thank you.
