Sue, When we unpacked here in Arizona I counted 8 sea bags. I was surprised that in 4 years with the navy he would have so many.

Hi all,
Regarding the medical records. My son's dentist said there is a form that the military has for doctor's to fill out ref medical/dental history. Anyone aware of the form and how to get it? Also, my son will be flying from Florida to RI. He will only have luggage large enough to carry what he is bringing. After graduation, how does he transport all of the uniform items? Are they boxed? Do they supply luggage, duffel bag or something? Little over 30 days 'til my boy leaves and still have a million unanswered questions!!!

Ok, thanks, JAM1. I figured that would be the case but my son is worried that if he gets there without the correct records they will make him wait to start OCS.

Beth, has your family been in Ypsilanti a long time? Many of my husband's ancestors are interred at the Denton Cemetery.

Does anyone know what is needed for OCS for dental records? Do they need to have copies of dental xrays? My son has had regular dental care his entire life and does not have any cavities so he really doesn't have much of a "record" only a history normal checkups and cleaning.

My son in law enlisted while still in high school through DEP. My daughter went to college, then they got married. She wasn't using her degree (chemical engineering) because they always lived near Navy bases and there weren't any jobs for her, so she decided to join, too. She'll end up at Nuke school after she gets her SWO pin, and eventually on a carrier. And yes, I am very proud of both of them. My son in law started in aviation ordinance but a cancer diagnosis landed him in the clinic on base. When he was back on active duty, he pursued a job as a Corpsman. He's done one tour to Iraq on a training mission and is stationed at Camp Lejeune. He's been in remission for 3 years now! We've been on quite a ride with those two kids!

Pgrlisa, I loved that picture!! Thanks for sharing. You must be so proud of them both. Cheryl S. congratulations on your son's graduation and finishing Supply School. I wish him well (and you) on his first deployment. Was he the last class in Athens? My son is in OCS now and will be attending supply school in Newport. And Leslie - I'm interested to learn more about your scrapbook - sounds like a nice thing to do.
