Thank you, thank you. If anyone would like an autograph (no charge), please send self addressed, stamped envelope! ROFLMAO. We still haven't heard from our sailor. It has been 4 weeks. Presumably, he is out somewhere.

A group has already been started with OCS candidates starting this week. Good luck.

Hi, my son started OCS on Sunday also. I heard the first week is especially tough. I am new to all this. If anyone hears anything could you please post it here. I just sent off a letter but I know it might be some time before they get mail. I am hoping they will be able to call this weekend but heard they have to earn this right too. I am so thankful I found Navy for Moms!

No more sweating about it, eqbot. The first time I heard the term "beat up" I was ready to take the next plane to Pensacola - nobody beats up on my boy. Ha ha. ROFLMAO.

Layke, perhaps you didn't see my apology written an hour before your comment. I did not intend to hurt anyone and the Candidates use the term getting "beat up" as a matter of fact. I simply used the terms they use. Again, if my comment bothered you particularly, I apologize again. I can't do much more than that.

Oh hey I am not upset with anyone!!! I understand, I am now walking in the shoes that everybody else has been there. Now its real to me, before it was just reading and like I said now its the real thing. Congrat egbot being so close to the end of the OCS journey. So please don't think you upset anyone. I am just over protective mom as my son can take care of himself. He is a husband and father and I just worry--don't want him sick, just endure and do his best and get this part of his navy career over. I am very proud of what he has accomplished in the Navy and this is another part. I guess its the not knowing how he is doing is making havic on my sleep. Its now day 3 already. Thanks all for the words, I can't wait until I can say 2 weeks to graduation!! You all have a wonderful day and I will continue counting the days to the end of his journey at OCS and how proud I will be!!

N4M was not in existence when my son went through OCS in Dec '6 to Mar '07. We didn't think it would anything our son couldn't handle. He was a top athlete in high school. We were right but it was much harsher than we had imagined.

When my daughter was in OCS, I just told myself that this is part of the journey. Her goal was to be an Officer in the US Navy, and OCS was the only way she was going to get to that goal. It's worth the pain in the long run. Now she has her "butter bar" and is out to sea.
