I wish I could start the day over. For the better part of the day, I stayed in my jammies watching rerun of World Cup matches with hubby and younger son. My niece interrupts my afternoon map and inquired if we were still going over to the July 4th BBQ at their home, She and her husband had adopted twins last winter and had just moved to a new home. I thought the BBQ was tomorrow! I thought July 4th was tomorrow. I have been too busy with work and hadn't read the paper for 4 days. I was feeling sorry for being stupid, so we go out to a wonderful restaurant for ribs - btw, everything is open on the 4th. We take a leisurely drive to TJ Max, looking for odds and ends furniture for a friend of the family - arriving 10 minutes after it had closed. We get home and I am settling in to watch TV and I hear this loud "WHY DID YOU DO THAT?" from the living room. My husband looks sick. Someone had marked the ivory keys on his mother's beloved baby grand piano with a permanent marking pen. Our son said, "Hey I did that years ago. You can't punish me NOW?" We couldn't sell the thing on Ebay now!

He did take towels. Towelettes are something I meant to put in with his "stuff" but forgot. Thanks for the ideas.

Hi, All, My son is leaving to go to his deployed ship tomorrow and asked that I look on N4M's for any discussion about certain things to take on deployment. He has his uniforms etc. I think he is wondering about stuff like sheets. Any ideas of necessaries?

Can anyone tell me how I can find out what training class my son is in or how I can find out how he is doing. Somone mentioned that I can contact the chaplain but I have no idea how to do that. I don't want to cause any problems for my son. I haven't heard from him since he left for Rhode Island.
