1proudmama, my son is also class 1402. He is an ET. Talked with him last night. He's having a rough time right now. But he wants to pass and he sounds like he is going to try hard.
My son is also having a rough time right now. They had a second test last week on Friday and he failed. Thank God he still have a good enough grade average. He's keeping positive. Studying lots of hours over his mandatory. This week he only have one test on Wednesday. Next week will be two, one in Tuesday, another on Friday. Eight more tests, including the final, he said. I just keep on encouraging him, lots of support, lots of praying for all our kids.
Stay strong ladies! Our job is to send encouragement and love, right! Just like always. :D
I talked to my son last weekend and his exam grades seem to be going up. So, I'm hopeful that things have "clicked" and he's starting to get it. But, he doesn't graduate until Aug 1st. So, he has a ways to go to finish. Hoping things continue to get better for him.
Sending good wishes and prayers to all of you and your sailors!
My son just told me he passed today's test. No more tests this week. Confidence is in. So happy for him. Trusting and relying in God. Praying for all our sailors :))
The boy wonder mom, that is great news. The important thing is he is caught up with the class now and is not falling behind. Just make sure the one he flunked that he relearns the material he will need to know it on the final comp exam. Good luck to everyone.
seems like tests are starting to get harder for 1402 group. Son was testing in mid 3's now 2.7 last test. failing last test by .02. just told him to make it over the 2.5 mark and all will be good. 1st half of power school was a lot easier and enjoyable for him. Hang in there fellow 1402's we will make it through.
1proudmama, same here with my sailor. Now that the grad date is just around the corner, I don't hear much from him. Just a quick text on test day to let me know how it went. No scores anymore, no need for them. It took a few tests for him to accept that a passing score is good enough. The first 3 months of power school he was flying thru, no mandatory hours, even though he always studied 25 plus hours. He knows that the only way to pass is studying and then some more. 1proudmama, God willing we will be at graduation on June 6.
William thank you for your good wishes, I just sent a text to my sailor about making sure he relearn the material that he failed. He told me that he's working on this with his instructor and some of his friends that did passed the test. He's trying his best, he wants this to happen. I remember that Nuke wasn't his first choice, and now, he eats and breath Nuke. Praying that everything goes well for all sailors in 1402. :)
@ Christy, it sure looks like we r getting there, and yes we are not physically in the race but our hearts are! Momthatlovesherson, almost there!!! :))
Apparently my son ran a 10:15 mile and half and 96 sit-ups and 90 push-ups. So, now he is only on voluntary pt. :) He said that means he doesn't have to get up until 7 instead of 5:15. That's good, cuz now he'll have more study time. ;) He's in 1403. Good luck to all our sailors...hope they did well!!!
My sailor had a good test today, happy and relax, if only for a moment. :) called me after the scores were posted and told me his score. After that just wanted to know about our dog and discuss the Spider-Man movie, still my boy. Hope everyone had a great test today :)
Jeffsmom, mine also got to go on voluntary pt yesterday. He was was more pleased about that than doing well on the classroom test! He's also 1403 so it must have been a good day.
Dinky, that's great! Ya, my son seemed happy to have extra time to himself. Haha. Way to go 1403!!! Hope everyone is having a great day today! We're half way through another week. I know my son is busy studying for another exam Friday. He's worried, as always. But, trying not to stress. Just doing his best. :)
My son was on voluntary PT and voluntary study hours during power school. Of course to get to that point in the first place you have to do some PT and do some studying Lol.
1402 is having their final PTs this coming week, and there's another test tomorrow. Everyone should be very busy just about now.
Praying and wishing the best for all our boys :)
Jeff mom, and Dinky it's a great advance when they get to voluntary PT because then they really enjoy their workouts. They go and release some stress. For voluntary study hours, I don't think my sailor will get to enjoy that, LOL. He's been on 10 mandatory hours since January but for this last month his hours got raised to 20, because the test he failed 2 weeks back. Now he's got to deal with the current tests and the relearn of the material he failed for the final comp. He's doing well as best as can be expected. Again, praying for all our boys!
The boy wonder mom, sending your son all the prayers he can take. :) I hope he'll do well on his test. Yes, so happy he'll have some extra study time. I know he'll use it and needs it! Best wishes to all our guys!
OMG! So, my son just told me did so well on his test today and others recently that he's brought his GPA up to 2.98. That is a Mother's day gift to me. (He doesn't realize it, I'm sure, but that's ok.) :D SOOO HAPPY! What a great day!
Jeffsmom, what a wonderful Mother's Day present! That will boost his confidence and he will feel great. As moms that's all we need, for them to be happy and strong. Congratulations to him and you too! Happy Mother's Day!
So excited! My son is flying home for the Memorial Day weekend!! He will be home for his younger bro's HS grad party! Tickets purchased, now the wait...
My son also graduated this weekend and is in Charleston, SC. He was very excited to be back in the south as SC is our home state. He will be only 3 hour drive from me. Truly lucky!
Just got word my son passed his A-school comps so he'll be ET3! We're going down for graduation, so anyone else with a sailor in 1407T send me a PM if you want me to try to get pics.
CONGRATS to all the graduates!!! Hope you all had a wonderful mother's day as well! I missed my son, but we did get to talk. Dang he sounds soooo grown up. I can hear the positiveness in his voice, too. All made my day. :)
Thanks William. My son was set to ship today for bc but is delayed due to being sick today. They haven't said when he will ship again and I didn't know if being nuke was going to make it hard to get a slot again soon.
My son is in 1402, graduating 6/6/14. I think it's gonna go down to the wire. He is not making that great on his tests. I so hope that he passes. I know he would be disappointed if he didn't.
Momthatlovesherson, praying for a positive turn in your sailor's tests. They still have five more including the comps. Hoping and praying everyone passes. :)
Does anyone know the grad date or end date of 1424 for the first 14 weeks of A school? By my count I'm thinking end of Junish...but I need something more specific.
B'sMomLa - my husband is in class 1415 (used to be 1412, but they changed classes) and their graduation is June 20th I believe, so 1424 will probably be a little bit after that
My son is in 1422mt. He was first given August 8 but then the Et group will wait a week for part 5. Then new date is August 15th. I don't know if the class number will change.
Looking for a bit of advice to send my son. He is having trouble with his roomate's lack of hygiene, cleanliness and doing laundry. They just got a grossly unsat room inspection (not many passing ones). The roommate was even moved to a "clean room" for a while and then my son had decent room inspections when he was gone. This is the second one since he came back and it had a hit due to the odor in the room (from the roommates dirty laundry in the closet). The suite mates have also noticed and commented on the odor before. He has talked to his SLPO and chief about this inspection and my son still had to do EMI. Thoughts?!?
