Hi Ali from my understanding those who Graduate Jan. 5th will be the ones who are able to be adopted out for Christmas. The others will enjoy a nice festive meal which I hear is Great. Fingers crossed that you all receive calls that Day, but unsure of the process their in BC.

I received the form letter from my daughter! Was so excited and to see her handwriting (her new handwriting and format lol) She even drew a little heart on it. February 2nd is her PIR. Can’t wait to hear her voice. I didn’t see a password though in the packet? Was that supposed to be included in this letter? Or down the road?

This is a friendly reminder that recruits are NOT allowed to receive care packages of any kind. Any food items that are received are discarded. Never send your recruit anything unless they specifically request it, such as particular toiletries; or contacts/makeup for photos and graduation, for example.

Friends and family of Recruit Training Command, please be advised that as of the first graduation ceremony of 2018 (January 5), we will be adjusting our Recruit Family Welcome Center hours of operation. Maureen what day did she leave for boot camp? I'm thinking my husband will be graduating that day or the Friday after. Hoping to receive the form letter sometime this week.

  • Maureen

@kelz89 my daughter left on Dec 4th. I received her form letter today and was shocked when I received a call from her tonight. It was a great surprise! She needed her routing number and she explained that her division just finished up processing. I was surprised to hear that because I did not know it went beyond he first week but apparently there were delays I guess. But her tentative PIR is still February 2nd.

Good Morning ladies Happy Tuesday! wishing you all well this morning.

Welcome to all the New Comers to the site and Congratulations on your New SR.

Just think Ladies your Loved ones are just around the corner from PIR, what an exciting feeling. Continue to send encouraging letters letting them know you are right beside them the whole way, to continue to stay focused and have the determination like no other. being tired and working hard can take a toll on them and not only that missing home also. So way to go Ladies continue with the encouraging letters. And let them know others are routing for them and are very proud for the choice they have made for themselves. Have a Great Day!

  • Paula

Good morning. My son left for boot camp on Dec. 13. Are there any other moms on here that have a son/daughter that left on that date?
  • Sandi

Received my letter yesterday!  My son is on Ship 03, Division 087.  He graduates on February 2nd, so a week earlier then we were thinking. I already made reservations at the Navy Lodge for 4 nights to attend the graduation and be close to the Base.  Next, Plane tickets and rental car!

since we have more than 4 going to Great Lakes, we wanted the other family members to be able to watch the graduation live feed and I heard the Navy Lodge has a large TV to watch it from.

mdun5959 do you know what his expected grad date is?
  • TexasNavyMom

Hello all! My son just left on 12/14/17. This is my 1st time experience as a Navy mom!
  • Paula

TexasNavymom I know exactly how you feel!! This is my 1st experience and I have so many questions..
  • mdun5959

Hi Paula ~ I don't know yet still waiting on that "form letter" to arrive

  • Phoenixmom

To guesstimate the PIR date, count 9 Fridays after your recruit arrived to get the most likely PIR (graduation) date, but then know that it could be the week before if s/he is placed in one of the last divisions from the previous week and is in a "Push Division" (this happens more for those arriving on Monday or Tuesday, but even those arriving on a Wednesday can end up in a Push Division if there were delays in shipping recruits to the RTC) or the week after it if the current week's divisions are filled (this happens more for those arriving on Wednesday or Thursday or in the wee hours of Friday if the RTC skips a week and does not have PIR, which happens most often around the Christmas and New Year's holidays, but it can happen anytime; it can also happen if there were storms that caused flight delays anytime during the week, which changed the arrival dates for some and/or resulted in some recruits who are bused in to receive an earlier ship date thus increasing the number of recruits arriving that week; it happens often for recruits arriving in June, July, August and September when a lot of recruits are shipped who signed up prior to or at the beginning of their senior year of high school). It is more likely for a recruit to be at the RTC for 8 or 9 Fridays than for 10 Fridays. Counting Fridays until PIR may also help to make the time pass more easily than counting days.

  • Phoenixmom

Welcome Ladies glad to have you here, I put some info on how to guesstimate when your loved ones will have PIR. Here are a few sites to read and you can also follow the weeks they are in and what they may be doing.

  • Sandi

Yes, regarding the PIR date, my son was pushed up a week,  he left on December 7th but did not arrive until later in the evening.  So he is in BC for only 8 weeks and 1 day. Almost 2 down already!

  • Kelz89

@Maureen Thanks for the reply! My husband was originally supposed to leave the 6th but asked for a couple days extra so he left the 11th.

  • Phoenixmom

Hi Paula if you have questions please feel free to ask and welcome!

I finally got the form letter!!!! I'm so excited he arrived at boot camp on 12/11 and will be graduating on 02/02!!! I booked the navy lodge for 4 days and can't wait! He didn't leave me a message at the end though so i'm a little sad about that. Maybe he didn't know that he could.

  • ReeseMom

That's awesome news! My son arrived yesterday the 18th so I wonder if he will be graduating the following Friday 2/9. Is the Navy lodge on base?

  • Thirty8Speshell

That is great! My daughter arrived the same day on the 11th, hope to get her letter soon!

My son is graduating 2/2!  We are planning our trip!  I can't wait to celebrate his accomplishment!  Question:  When filling out the form to attend graduation with info of those attending what is the State ID Number they are looking for?

  • Phoenixmom

I would think it would be either the number on your DL, state ID or social for smaller children..

  • Phoenixmom

Ali I am guessing it would be the number on you DL, State ID and for younger children their social.

  • Phoenixmom
