Thanks ladies - my mom is quite excited to become a great grandma - almost as excited as I am to finally become a grandma!  Looking forward to heading to Michigan in March for the baby shower.  I need to stay off of Etsy lol!

B'sNukeMom - Just remind yourself they grow out of clothes quickly!! I spent way too much on my first granddaughter's layette and now, I do much better refraining myself. 

It is a new week for all of our Nukes. Whether going through the Pipeline, out in the fleet, or doing their shore duty, may they have a productive week, may they know how much we all appreciate them and all of their hard work!

Chipmunk - I've bought a few outfits (and shoes) lol but I make sure to go bigger on the size so he can grow into them.  They're just so darn cute though and I can't resist.  I've bought lots of books - one can never have too many books lol!  And I've been finding them on clearance so that is nice.  My Etsy finds are the baby shower decorations and things for his room......the shower is going to be soooo cute!

B'sNukeMom - It is hard to resist. I understand! And yes, lots of books are always good! We all look forward to pictures of the shower. 

B'sNukeMom, I was wondering how you were doing with all the storms California has been getting? 

Also a tip when shopping for baby clothes, I usually go to the clearance rack and shop all sizes. That way there is always something to look forward to . And be sure and check out those racks at the change of the seasons. Great deals can be had ! And books ..you can never have enough ! PS Congratulations !! The Packers can use another fan !! HAHA

mom of mrams - I'm in SoCal and our area hasn't been hit too hard with the rain - NorCal pretty bad though.  And even some areas of Los Angeles and neighboring cities.  Fortunately there's not many hilly areas around us so no slides but man some areas are bad....

And yes, I pretty much have only been shopping the clearance rack for baby clothes.  Our Marshall's has so many cute things it's hard to say no lol!

They are doing the nursery in the "Woodland" theme and I tell you it is so cute!  I'm even able to do the whole shower in the same theme.

B'sNukeMom - Have fun with the baby shower planning! "The Woodlands" sounds like a great theme for a little boy. 

I ordered a sheet set and mattress topper for my daughters rack and they keep giving me the run around as to when it will ship. I used fleetsheets.com. I used them in the past for my son and know they have a good product. It’s been 7 weeks since I ordered and I really want this for her. Does anyone know of another reputable site I can order from, so I can just cancel with them and reorder?

NickSydmom - sorry to hear you're having issues with your order.  I know that fleet sheets is the most recommended and I don't know of any others.  Maybe someone else will chime in with another option.

Nicksydmom I used Rack Sheets and had excellent service and their quality is very good.

NickSydmom - I am glad that JayDee659 was able to help you out. I asked my sailor once if he wanted me to order him special sheets and he said no, so I never ordered any. 

I decided to work from the comfort of my sofa today - since we are supposedly having a "winter storm". I have to laugh, in our area, any prediction of possible snow and now that schools are set up to work online, everything closes!! I don't have my normal natural sunshine to work from, so I figured if I was using electricity, I would just enjoy my sofa. 

I hope all of our sailors are doing well in their studies. If anyone is planning on traveling to GC, be sure to check out the discussions on places to visit.

Thank you so much everyone! Hopefully I’ll have a few weeks at least before BC starts for him, so I can educate myself and prepare.  But I’ll know more soon. Again, so happy I found this group and grateful for the support, resources, and help you all provide!!

Dani_NukeMom - You are welcome!  Here is a discussion that my sailor helped me put together when he started A school. Some things may have changed, especially post-COVID, but it can still give both of you an idea of what to expect. I added to the discussion as he progressed. 

Nuke A school daily schedule

NickSydmom-  I had a similar issue a couple of years ago.  I wanted them for a Christmas present and I guess lots of people do and they get slowed down.  I canceled the order online and a week later they showed up.  I never got the refund the cancelation said I would but since I also go the stuff it did not matter.

Did you order with monograms?  That will definitely slow it down I was told at the time.

Not sure what to tell you now.  You might try canceling and then reorder in a week or two if timing is not an issues.   My sailor loves the topper especially when at sea.

Anyone else going to power school graduation on March 17? My son is graduating on the officer side that day. Last time I was in Charleston he was graduating power school on the enlisted side. That feels like a long time ago. I'm eager to go back and experience another NNPTC ceremony!

PacNWmom, congratulations to your son. I enjoyed Goose Creek and Charleston as well, so happy I got the opportunity to visit twice. Enjoy your trip and time with your Sailor.

Is there a date for Prototype graduation as of yet in March 2023? Trying to plan our trip. 

mamabearto3 - I don't know the Prototype schedule, but I wanted to say congratulations to your sailor as he is finishing up with all of his qualifications. Has your son been able to give you any information? 

We have been trying to ask, but he is so busy, he worked 16 hours shifts last week. If anyone has info, please let me know. Buying plane tickets is so expensive right now. Thak you!

I just found this on the NPTU Charleston | Goose Creek SC | Facebook dated Jan 19th The graduation for Class 2204 will now take place on Thursday, March 23rd. Please update your calendars accordingly. 

I believe this is Prototype graduation, but I am not for certain. Sorry, I have just been trying to Google search.

Mamabear - Chipmonk is correct. according to NPTU site: The graduation for Class 2204 will now take place on Thursday, March 23rd. Please update your calendars accordingly. This was posted on 1/19/2023. This is the 2nd time this has been updated.  Book so you can cancel if need be.

Just a heads up - I'm going to have limited computer access tomorrow through Sunday.  My dad passed away on the 18th and I'm heading to Washington to help out with some of his things.  Hold down the fort please....
