Kim, Oh honey, we have all been where you are right now. Just know that we have all come through it just fine (moms and sailors). The hardest thing for a mother to do is to let go. This will be a good thing for your son and at graduation (PIR), you will be so proud of his growth as a sailor and as a man. My son has been in the Navy for 4 years now and last Friday he re-enlisted for 4 more. While I miss him terribly, he loves what he is doing and has had so many opportunities to see the world! Don't ever forget that we are all here for you! Pat
Kim--Our son has been in for 4 years, too. Pat L & I met when our kids were in a little over 6 months. Sailor just left our house after a week's visit, which was great. The Navy has been the best choice he ever made. He re-enlisted last year.
Hi Kim, Welcome to Molly's Adopt A Sailor! You can find more information about what we do on Molly's group page. Go the right side of the page below the members pictures and click on "New Moms Read First." If you need help or have questions, don't hesitate to send me a message! Thanks for joining us! You are going to have fun and make some terrific friends.
I hear rumblings of a meet & greet in Schaumburg around April 21. I will let you know when I hear more details.
It was so nice to talk to you the other night! Call if you need a friendly ear!!! Pat
Thank you for the friend request. I'd love to get together and meet you and learn all about your sailors. I will send you a private message with my cell phone #. How long have you been at Great Lakes? I've only been here since September.
Kim, I;m so glad my husband has a friend! I was able to speak with him on Monday and he told me he hated it. He told me that their division lost their mail privilege this weekend so they won't receive any letters until this Sunday. I haven't received any letters from my husband yet besides the form letter. I'm hoping for one this week. I'm holding up okay. We just recently got married so its a little weird being in the "honeymoon phase" without him being here! Sean will be going to Pensacola as well after bootcamp. He is an IT. What is your son's job?
