I am 46 years old, married for 22 years, I work at a Natural Gas Company in Customer Service for 15 years, we live in a very small town 435 people and love it, I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and we decided when our son was 5 we did not want to raise him in St. Louis so we moved to the country. I commute to St. Louis everyday driving 160 miles round trip, it's well worth it. I have one son who is 21 and just went to boot camp,
Oh, my, what a lot of driving. Let me know if you need anything during bootcamp. I was prepared for the "sailor in the box" thanks to this site. That was over 3 years ago, and our sailor just re-enlisted!
Hi and Welcome.
We are happy to have you on the Navy for Moms site. You are invited to join either the Illinois or Missouri family page as listed below. It is a great way to find families in your area and even help plan meet and greets. We also have some packing parties for our troops overseas getting together.
Looking forward to hearing from you in one of our groups!
Be sure and let me know if you have any questions!
PS. Feel free to cruise my page and see if there are any other groups that interest you. One of my passions is supporting our deployed troops. Check out http://www.navyformoms.com/group/mollysadoptasailorproject and see if it is a group you may like to join.
I'm sure this has been a difficult week full of emotion for you. I've been thinking about that first week when my son is gone and how I will handle it. Hugs to you. I work in STL too (CWE) and live about 20 miles south in Jefferson Co. My son is 21 also (I have a 20yr old son too). He does not leave for boot until February, but is hoping for an earlier date. I admire your stamina for the daily drive! I complain regularly about my 30 minute commute, I will stop that now.
I did get the letter. It was a formal letter concerning graduation, and at the bottom is where he put his two cents in!! LOL I thought it was great!! You're right, like a toy at christmas time!!
