    TO CREATE A GROUP (for USS Maine)

    Click on Groups tab on MENUBAR above, click "+Add" and follow the instructions - fairly simply. After you have created the group, post a comment on this discussion (a tabulation of all the groups on Navy For Moms associated with ships).

    Many ships/boats do not have a Navy For Moms group but will have a Facebook private group (depends on the ombudsman who is usually the wife of a senior officer). Normally this is the Family Readiness Group.

    Make sure your son submits your name, address, etc. as family contact to the boat's ombudsman. After you get the name of the ombudsman from him, you should send you a note/email and ask to be put on any communications list/group (newsletter or Facebook private group).

    My son's sub does not. I have the contact information for a number of the moms whose sons are on my son's sub. Periodically we communicate by regular email and phone. My son's sub did have a Family Readiness Group on Facebook.

    Hi Rebecca..:) My sons name is Max, and hes an ET on the Alexandria. Hes been in for 2 years now, but i just joined this group. I didnt know it even existed and i found it by accident. I was so upset my son didnt receive his care package, so i googled 'lost packages' and it brought me here! My son got married to his high school sweetheart in April and shes living in Groton, awaiting his return. I worry about him, and i also have to worry about her..its so hard. She has her good days and bad, but theses holidays are hard on her. Cant wait till we get thru this. How about ur son? Married? Rate? they probably know each other..:)..also....i know we are not supposed to pass on or post any info, and im so afraid im going to say something i shouldnt. What did you want to know about the meeting the other day?. i was told it only lasted 2 minutes, but i did find out what i wanted to know..:) so let me know..:)
