Hi Carol, Did you get your questions answered? Sorry it took so long to get back to you but I have been in bed with the flu for 3 days. If you still have a question, please send me a message. Pat

Good morning Carol, There are 2 places that you could look for more moms in your area. At the top of the page, go to "Groups" and see if you can find a group nearby. Also go to Molly's page and at the top in the discussion forum, look through "Check-in with your name and state". Good luck! Pat

Carol, If you go to the search box at the upper right corner and put in valeriejean, it will take you to her name. Then click on her name (in her picture she is wearing a bright blue sweatshirt) and it will take you to her page where you can leave her a message. LMK if you have a problem. FYI, packing parties are addictive!!!hahaha!! Pat

Hi Carol, "valeriejean" is having the first So. California packing party on Feb. 21. She is in Thousand Oaks and I have no idea if that is anywhere near you. I just wanted to let you know because the packing party get-togethers are SO much fun. Pat

HI, We are in Apple Valley near Victorville just up the 15. We got some letters from Matt he didn't say anything about his shipmates. He said he is a Grad & Go so we shouldnt come to PIR because of the expense and that he will have to leave for school on Saturday but not sure what time yet. He said he was going to try to get liberty for the weekend or maybe change his school but he is nuke and I really dont think they would let him change schools. Then by the later letters he seemed over it so seems time there is helping to make it easier. I know he is really missing his girlfriend because he was leaving and it was the holidays they had been spending almost every moment together. He wrote us about 3 letters from when he got there thru last Sunday and said in his letters he is writing her everyday. It was very disappointing when he went to meps because he went on 1/4 but didnt leave San Diego til the 6th. So he's been there a bit longer than some based on the info I see her on N4M. I was a little disappointed his PIR date went from 3/4 to 3/11 but it is what it is. Gives me 1 more week to plan. Kelly

Hi Carol, My son is in the same ship as your SR.  We are also in CA so I hope they have met. I don't really understand how these Ship Div's go. Do they get to know everyone in there ship/div? The way they label it it sounds like a big group and then something I read said they have about 80 SR in a group that's alot I think. Thank you for friending me looking forward to getting to know all the family's then finally meeting at PIR if possible.

Carol,

Our son is in this group. I have already been told that the only other sailor closest to home was from California. That would be your grandson. WE haven't heard too much more. This is our last one to leave home, second born. Our daughter, her husband and granddaughter only live about a mile away, so we do see them a lot. Son in law just got out of the Army. So this "being" away isn't new but doesn't feel the same. I'd love to stay in touch and meet others that are in the same group.
