Hi, Rhonda!

I apologize for the delayed reply. This week has been so crazy!

I did receive a 10 second call from Jamal on Wed, 01/15 saying he arrived safely. He sounded exhausted, but fine, otherwise. Have you heard from Cole?

We're in the Columbia, MD area...in between Wash DC & Baltimore. As cold as it's been here, I can not wait to travel to Chicago for the PIR!

Don't forget to make change 3 and 4.

Join the group, DEP-Leavin' for Boot Camp in January. You will meet others with loved ones leaving this week who may be in the same TG and have PIR together. Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC. I also suggest you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and begin checking out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions there. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what will soon be happening. Be sure to join your PIR group once you get the form letter.

Make changes 3 and 4 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Since your future Sailor has a contract for Hospital Corpsman (HM), sometime between now and the end of BC, join HM (Hospital Corpsman) A School in San Antonio and check out Basic Medical Technician Corpsman Program Facebook Page. The Rating Information Card for HM can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/hm.pdf; it indicates 19 weeks, but "A" School is 14 weeks after classing up. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.
