OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi Allan thanks for the info. My husband is also retired Navy and our older son graduated from Great Lakes in 2007. This time is a little rougher as this is our youngest. This group has been great wish I would have known about it 6 years ago

Thanks Allan, There is one thing that I've been wondering about. When the soldiers go to A school can they have there cell phones there. And can we meet up with them at the airport the day they leave.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. What is your Sailor's rating (job/specialty) going to be and/or where is he stationed or in "A" School? You may want to check out Dads on Moms.....com and http://www.navydads.com/.

Take care and blessings to you and yours.
