My box came too and same as you I was not home! I left the slip as well so hopefully will have it tomorrow. Brian's recruiter sent me his address today. I am going to send 2 letters even though the other Mom's say I should wait till I am sure it is the right address. I figure when my official letter comes I will double check it and if it was wrong I will just send all future letters to the right address no harm no foul! I can't wait to hear from my son I am sure you feel the same way about your daughter. Hang in there and keep in touch!
I am sure I have them in my sent folder...What was the email address you used again..I will find them and send them again...that is terrible about the flight problems...I just got back from great lakes and I had several delays on thursday and then again today
You are so welcome...:)
Oh, sorry - - forgot about the question regarding travel from the airport!!!! The Navy has buses they use to transport all the incoming sailors to RTC. They usually always travel in small groups and they will be instructed where to go and will get picked up and delivered right to RTC.
Caitsmamma,
I would have her take $30 or $40 in cash but make sure she has a bank card for whatever account will have her check sent to. If no one has told you or her yet, she also needs a deposit slip for her account so they can set up her automatic payroll. With a bank card, she can make any purchases at the NEX. I don't remember my daughter needing cash for anything else. She never mentioned any problems. Also make sure she has a small address book where she can write down important phone numbers and addresses. It's amazing how we all get so dependent on our contacts lists in our cell phones that we completely forget to memorize phone numbers. With all the stress they have it's easy to forget someone's number!!!
What does ??? mean? (A Guide to Navy Abbreviations and Terminology) will help with the new lingo.
You are very welcome. I'm glad I could help,
