OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

See FAQ about SEPS and http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/ship5/index.asp for more information on SEPS. Be sure to have your recruit sign paperwork with legal so that they will be able to discuss the situation with you if your recruit wants that to happen.

Claudia, I spoke to my Sailor and she said that your daughter was right behind her in her run. She's very close to passing! My sailor gave her some words of encouragement before they parted and it put a smile on your daughters face. I will continue to pray for your daughter. She will pass soon, I can feel it. Keep the faith!

You may want to check out Mom's of Daughters 2, Mom’s of Navy Daughters, and Women in the Navy.

What is her rating (job/specialty) going to be?

Make at least change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes. Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP code to one that is not easily associated with your recruit.
