My Corpsman Son

I would like to know if there is anyone else out there going through the same issues as I am.  My son left 3 weeks ago for Afghanistan.  He will be gone for 7 months.  I think I cried for weeks before he left and now I cry constantly.  He is going to be at a combat outpost in a very volatile area with only a handful of Marines.  I am so scared for him and cannot stop worrying.  My husband works in the new Walter Reed and is reminded daily what these men and women are sacrificing. Hi, my daughter is still deploy but I am already worried about some of the issues you are going through because she hit a denotored to a land bomb and now she is having terrible flashbacks and headaches.  She said she is handling it the best she can but it's one thing to be around people 24 hours a day but it's another thing to be alone and have them.  I also know how it feels to be so worried that it can cause illness, I have experience that to.  If you want to chat privately let me know.  I am here for you and your son.

Hey DJones:  When you son gets to college (which will be largely paid for by the US government) and once he is enrolled, there will be a student health coverage plan.  My older son finished his BA, went to work on the east coast, and went back to SO CAL for his graduate degree.  He gets medical coverage through the school and if its something that can't be taken care of at the on-site walk-in clinic on campus, they refer him to a doctor off campus who is under contract for services to the students.  Hope that makes you feel a little better....
