All Hands Magazine's full length documentary "Making a Sailor": This video follows four recruits through Boot Camp in the spring of 2018 who were assigned to DIV 229, an integrated division, which had PIR on 05/25/2018.
**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).
Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

Thanks for sharing about your family. Glad to hear that you will be at PIR. I look forward to meeting you and the moms that I am meeting through this site. I hope the next month flies byquickly for all of us and things go smoothly for our sons and daughters.
Between now and PIR I will get a picture up so that I am more recognizable. : - )
I guess I was lucky. Some how I got two calls over the weekend. One on Saturday and then Monday afternoon. My SR is my oldest son. I have another son (senior in high school) and daughter (middle school). I am also a elementary school teacher. All of that keeps me pretty busy. Also, my son went to a military academy his senior year and was gone for 5 1/2 months. So I kind of went through all of this before. Empty bedroom, quieter house, limited calls home and weekend visits.
When we spoke he sounded good. He is settling in and is very familiar with the process which helps.
Will you be attending PIR? We will be arriving on Thursday and staying through Monday. Fortunately, his A school is at Great Lakes so we will have the weekend with him.
My son told me yesterday that Hill(Koty) my son ,Mitchell( Logan) and portaBaum are inseparable at BC. I for one am so glad that my son is making friends at BC. I am also on fb for our pir 10-16-15. Name on my fb is Penny Hill and you can find me by Pennyshillhavenboxers@comcast.net.
I see you have changed your Username; you may also need to change the URL to this page. If you do, make change 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) to take care of that. (If you are using a Smart phone, you will need to switch to Desktop View to make this change.)
Also make change 3 while you are there so that this page is no longer open to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web.
There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.
Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP Code to one that is not easily associated with your recruit.
Since you have a recruit at the RTC, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted." You can make that change on the same page when you change the ZIP Code.
You will find this site very helpful and full of members who are eager to answer your questions. Browse around the site and check out the forums, groups, blogs, photos, videos, and even the other member profiles!
