OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Course I recall you and glad your son has made it thru the Nuke training.  Keep me posted on what path he takes with the ship in dry dock.

My son grad U of Vir. med school in May, is interning at the San Diego Naval Base Hospital and will learn late in the yr where he goes for next yr and what area of Navy medicine - they interview for positions.

My daughter completes her Pathology residency at Cleveland Clinic (OH) and is seeking placement at the Bethesda military hospital for her Navy time since her hubby (a civ Dr.) is in the DC area for 3 yrs.  She should learn her placement late in the yr.

Be sure and drop back into chat.  The N4M site was down for a bit since the managing entity changed hands.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC, and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

I see you hve joined Sub Moms; you will also want to join GROTON, CT. SUBSCHOOL & "A" SCHOOL MOMS and check out the Naval Submarine Base New London Facebook Page. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR.  See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) to help you know how to plan your weekend. I invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the other Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) as well.

What is your SR's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There may be a group for that as well.

Take care and blessings to you and yours.
