OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please help with PERSEC and delete Zimborunner's comment below (click on the little x) in which she gave a recruit's last name. You may also need to clear your Activity Log to completely remove the info from your Page. See number 6 in OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) to tell you how to do that and find out how to make change 3 while you are there and make that change as well. Thanks.

His name is SR Sears, Ship 13, Div 60. From what Kelley said he wasn't receiving any mail, I have sent him 2 cards and will send a couple more before PIR. Not sure his background tho. Have a great festive season!

Make change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Join Sailors In Pensacola, FL For A School....Corry Station too!! and Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola and check out Airman Family and Friends Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend. Have you learned your SR's rating?

Well he is there as of last night. We tried to prepare, did what we could. I do not remember his rating, just know he will go to "A" school in Pensacola. I have five sons and if I had to pick one for this experience he would be my last choice. I just don't feel it is right for him but he made the decision and I promised him I would respect and honor his decision but it is so very hard. I do appreciate your note of encouragement, and your effort to reach out and provide information and support. Thanks.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month efore Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC. What is your future Sailor's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
