OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Div 143 PIR date 3/15/19

Posted on March 4, 2019 at 12:17pm 2 Comments

My husbands bootcamp graduation date is coming very soon, unfortunately I have not recieved the "I'm a sailor" call yet. I know it'll be done after battle stations but I don't know when he'll be doing that.

Since you have a Sailor, you can change "At Boot Camp now" above to “Enlisted.”

If you get an error message, then look at the area/s in the error message and unclick all of the choices in the area/s and make choices closer to the question/s. Some choices may have changed since you joined.

Since your recruit has a contract for Operations Specialist (OS), join OS MOMS. You will also want to join Great Lakes A School Q&A and GL A-school moms. You can also check out the Training Support Center (TSC) Great Lakes Facebook Page.

The Rating Information Card for OS can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/os.pdf. (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.) There is more info for you in https://www.thebalancecareers.com/operations-specialist-3345852.

You will be able to enjoy extra time with your Sailor following PIR. Plan to leave late Sunday or on Monday if you are able to do that. (See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend.)

I believe it's an OS (operational specialist).
I'm having trouble being able to load comments on groups that I've joined..

Divisions 143 and 144 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 (BST) together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.
