I was glad to read your blog. My son leaves from Ohio  on Aug 7th for Great Lakes also.  Sounds like they may be together. He is going into Hospital Corpsman and he is really looking forward to it. I am so proud of him but he is my only child and I am not sure how I will deal with it.. I cry already! I have told him that it has been such a joy to watch him grow into the man he is and I know that the Navy will help him even more.

Hi Jesse's Mom,  I also have an only child and son leaving Aug 7th. How old is your son? What rate does he have? There is a group Deppers Leaving in August (or similar) that you can join but it's a long way off (or not :) I was also concerned and afraid. Check out your local Moms and try and go to a Meet and Greet. I went to my first one last weekend and it was a big help. Welcome to N4Ms You will know more than your depper soon!
