OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Afraid that you might miss my post on the board as it is moving so fast now! NO CHEWING GUM in uniform. Big NO NO! So if you take him gum for PIR, be sure he only chews it in the hotel room. And, yes, the "powers that be" are watching all over town and new sailors have gotten in big trouble for violating the rules. He will be well aware of the rules....but just in case ....they can take his liberty away, if not other things. My son said that they were told that they CAN be held there and not sent on to A School on time if they violate the rules. Just saying..... :-)

Your very welcome. I will light a blue candle for your son in 3 weeks as well. I'll keep up with it on your PIR group. What div is he in again & what does he play?

I am originally from Anacoco ( that is up by Leesville, Ft. Polk if you don't know), but now we live in Minden, which is east of Shreveport. Although it looks like I'll be spending alot of time in Lake Charles in the future because my daughter wants to go to McNeese next year.

I can write a letter to a recruit without knowing thier first name, so if you want to send me a "private" message with last name and address, I will jump on writing letters to those recruits asap! Or send me your recruits name and address and I will introduce myself in a note and ask him to pass out the letters. Whatever works!

Welcome to N4M. Your key to adjusting is finding a group (or groups) where you can feel comfortable and get answers to your questions – Click on the underlined links:
1. New Moms Stop Here group. You should think of this group as your orientation station.
2. Depper’s… in but not yet . is a group for those just waiting for bootcamp to start (Delayed Entry Program – a depper)
3. Boot Camp Moms group. Just about to go into Bootcamp? or already in?
4. OCS Graduate Moms or the NROTC Moms. For those going to be an officer or going to NROTC?

Check your page (click on MY PAGE) & status box (INBOX, FRIENDS, SETTINGS) often. If you don't you'll never find out what messages your new N4M friends have left

Best of luck, BunkerBee and AbbyblueOK (from the New Moms Stop Here Group)
