Hey everyone. It's been a long time on here. LynB, good luck to your son. They make good money in the MM. I know someone who's husband was in it for many years and she traveled a lot of time with him. Aw, Nicole, I'm happy things are better with you and Gaige. I bet you can't wait until you see him again at Christmas. I hope all is well. Matts doing great, loves the Navy so far. Wish everyone happy holidays!

Oy I missed a little bit, I haven't been feeling well, been getting headaches a bunch lately:/

No updates really, Gaige came home like...2 weeks ago for 3 days and it was SOOOOO wonderful to see him, since he's been home, a lot of our fighting/disputes have disappeared, the things being in person can change I swear!!!!:) It's soooo wonderful! Things are going great. December 20th will be our 10 month anniversary, he's on t-track hold in Nuke school and he's really loving the not having class everyday and really hating the watch!:p He finally got moved up to a Petty Officer Suite, he's an MM3 now:D Petty Officer 3rd class- I am SO proud of him! AND HE DOESN'T HAVE A ROOM MATE THIS TIME!!!!! He is lovin that! Since his other roomie was such a jerk! He comes home for christmas the 20th and leaves the 26th, I'm incredibly excited, :) Cant wait to have him back home again! I got approved for early graduation so I graduate in may, my boss at the arsenal wants me to continue working there so I think i'm gonna work through the summer for sure to build up some money and have a little bit of wiggle room for helping my family and all of that jazz. My grandma is getting back surgery dec. 7th and its supposed to make her feel great so fingers crossed it does, she's been in a lot of back pain. My dad agreed to let me get my tattoo on my ribcage in memory of my mom so i'll be getting htat before long I think. Hope yall had a great thanksgiving!:)

It WAS fast after BC Mary - he spent nearly 2 years active duty twiddling his thumbs in Tenn. after he graduated from college.  He was supposed to go to OCS originally but washed out about 2 weeks before his entry when he failed the run time for his last PRT - he was in his second round of antibiotics for H1N1 at the time. :-(  Then it took them another year to finally send him to boot camp.  So he spent much of his 4 year commitment working in the recruiting office in Nashville shredding papers and tutoring new recruits to pass exams.

Actually he's not joining the CG - just getting the certifications they supply to mariners.  Hoping to get into int'l shipping.  He's already got deck supervisor cert and some others due to driving boats for the Seabees over the past year.  He'll probably join the Navy Reserves though.

Hi all - just popping on to post that A has reached the end of his Navy adventure.  His commitment is complete :-) He went on terminal leave last week - ie: still in the Navy but using up his remaining leave time until final separation in January, moved out of the barracks, not in uniform, etc.

In a true twist of irony as only the Navy can do, he was informed today that he's been promoted to YN3 (Yeoman 3rd class).  His career counselor called and suggested that he apply to PTS (Perform to Serve) to stay in but he prefers to move back into civilian life.  He's going to work on Coast Guard certifications and see if he can get a job in the merchant marines or offshore oil industry now.

Its been one heck of a ride y'all!  I hope all your sailors are doing well!

Okay, here goes a vent. sort of anyways.

His family ONLY contacts me if they NEED to contact him and cant get in contact. Even when I text saying have a good day or something....

Am I over reacting for getting a little irritated with this?

Comment by nicole~a sailors girl(: on October 5, 2011 at 8:43pm

Yeah, he's done in November but until then he's got to deal with his stupid room mate. He's having some troubles with the math. He tries really hard, goes in for extra help and studies hard but cant seem to get some of it =( I wish I could help him but obviously I can't, so I just support him a ton. Gaige got some shitty instuctors too. His SLPO doesn't do ANYTHING to fix ANYTHING. It's a pretty bad situation he got stuck with but on the plus side, maybe next time they will be better, during power school, and maybe hell have a better roomie, then things will seem way better. he'll appreciate them more!

I went to homecoming freshman and sophomore year but this year it just wasn't appealing to me. All that seems appealing is saving money to see Gaige! That sounds like its worth the hundred dollars vs. homecoming.

Hmmm..Pool Parasailing....We can make it work!!! haha

Well, as most of you who have me on facebook know, gaige and i are back together I made him really work for it, I made him wait, and really really realize what had happened, he realized it, and sure enough, love comes back if it's real. Things have been so much better now. He's much better with his temper, much better about wanting to talk, and not always saying "but im tired, but im stressed, but i dont want to, but i wanna hang with the guys" because I couldnt quite grasp why giving up ONE HOUR for skype ONE NIGHT a week was becoming a big deal, the guys cant deal with the fact you have a girlfriend? they can suck it up. Now he devotes Saturday to skype at some point in the day, then he hangs out with friends. And calls me on Sundays to chat. We text mon-friday unless we have time to skype, which we did, 2 times yesterday!!! The only time we dont skype is when his roommate is in the room because his room mate is a super douche bag and got gaige phase stripped back to phase one because he's been there longer so they're taking his word that gaige is the reason the room is dirty, but my lord if they saw the inside of gaiges cabinet vs the inside of his roommates they would know who the real pig is. his roommate is incredibly incosiderate and messy. i do not like him one bit and gaige is having a hell of a time trying to get phased back up because they're taking the roomies word so hes going up the chain of command one up to each that says no. so far theyve said no to letting gaige switch rooms, but hes going to senior chief about it and i sure hope it gets resolved because its incredibly unfair, and is holding him back.

This is homecoming week at school, incredibly boring, whats new? im not going to homecoming because a)its circus themed and suposidly there will be clowns, which im not scared of, but not a fan of b) id like to have gone with gaige, but obviously cant c)tickets and such are outrageous!!!! Not worth it, ill save money for prom. First quarter ends next friday. Got my cap and gown ordered yesterday. YAY JUNIOR/SENIOR YEAR!!!!!:D
