Form Letter & other information (Travis H)

Posted on July 22, 2010 at 10:08pm 3 Comments

I received my form letter today, boy was I excited. He barely put a comment on the bottom of the letter and it was to his cousin. Happy to know where to send his mail to. We are so proud of him I sent 3 pieces today and have 4 ready to mail out tomorrow. My son is in PIR 0910, would like to connect with others whose seaman will be completing their training at the time.

Kid In A Box (Travis H.)

Posted on July 20, 2010 at 2:00pm 1 Comment

I just received my "kid in a box" today from FedEx there was nothing in the box about an assignment (ship). Am I expecting to much, he just left on the July 15. I am in the process of writing cards, letters and now have a stack of mail from friends and family to send to him as soon as I can. Does this information come later in an envelope or what do I do now? Just wait.

My name is Conniee. Chanel and I met you at MEPS on July 15th when my boy Travis was being processed. Trying to establish contact as we can probably assist each other in adjusting to our boys leaving for boot camp. It was so nice to talk with you. Hope you had a safe trip back to Sanford. Chanel and I had a discussion, I said your name was Tracey, she said Stacey. Please correct us. Hope to hear from you.

Hello! You will get his address in a form letter that comes to you....usually takes a week or so to get to you....so hang in there! As others said, sometimes you can get it from recruiter. Make sure you join the group "Boot Camp Moms." You might find others who have loved ones in the same ship/division as your son. You will love this website!
