OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi Kat (?)

Nice to know we have the connection.  I'll be seeing my son tomorrow so i can get caught up and learn more about your son.    You have a great set of photos.  If you are ever in DC, look me up.  Email is bomerlauritsen@starpower.net.  Sharon

I am good about my son being out to sea... Navy has been my life for the past 20 years... as was Air Force before that. Its hard at the same time being mom and wanting to still protect him. He has to walk his own path and will be a better man for it. He know the life as he grew up with it and understands the commitment. I trust him.. he would not be happy any other way. He has been in since June 2008 and went to Japan June 2009. He actually wanted to work on airplanes.. but that did not work out. He thinks Japan is ok.. but is unhappy about how much it costs to live there and do anything. Navy has been good to us.

I changed the RSVP to the following weekend if you can make it then. Jackie needs our support too.
