Hi, The April adoption for Molly's Adopt A Sailor was announced today in the Discussion Forum. We hope you will help us send some love from home to these sailors. Pat

Good morning. My phone call was awesome. My son also mentioned the "Talkers". I am sure that will work itself out soon enough. Have a great day!

Kathy, The small groups on the website have sent a "wish list" with their adoption requests. So either letters or care packages are sent to them. Again, we have had contact with them and they share everything received with their unit.

Kathy, Each month Molly's Adopt A Sailor adopts a deployed group. (This month it is the USS Stockdale) Everything is mailed to the "Contact Person." We have communicated with them and they agree to distribute the mail and care packages when it all arrives.

Because "Molly's" has grown so much we use the adoption requests from the larger groups for our monthly adoptions. The requests from really small groups are posted on our website (mollysadoptasailor.com) and individuals can adopt them.

"Special Hugs" is our ongoing adoption of 2 combat support hospitals in Afghanistan. Each month we send them the items that they have requested.

"We Stitch Love" is the group of seamstresses that sew pillowcases. Each month we send a homemade pillowcase to each adoptee. (With Command approval, of course.)

Each month the "Molly Moms" all across the country send what they can. To be perfectly honest, we all have budget constraints. Some months you can send a box or two and some months maybe all a mom can afford is postage for a few letters. NEVER underestimate the value of those letters. They are kept and reread and shared. Kathy, somehow it all works out and our heroes get a bunch of LOVE from HOME!!!

Does this help explain what we do?? Please do not hesitate to ask me questions. Pat

Kathy, Welcome to Molly's Adopt A Sailor! You are also now a member of "MAS We Ship Love" so you have access to the addresses.

If you have questions or need help, please do not hesitate to send me a message.

Our July adoption information is on the "Molly"s page in the Discussion Forum.

Thanks for joining us. Pat

Hello, I finally got the official letter too, and my son is also on ship 3 div 316, so good to know someone else is in the same "boat".....I wish I would have known more about this website before he left, cause now I know so much more...I sent out some letters today, but not sure how long it will take till he gets them, the letter said up to 10 days!  I don't understand why it has to take so long, but I will be glad when he writes us and when we get another phone call which ever comes first...I am sure they are doing just fine though
